Not that desperate, no point in having Tippett if you don't have a midfield that can kick it to him, we should know:o

We had a midfield, we just had a piss poor methodology in ball movement, forward leading and where and when to kick it.

Midfilders are easier to find than key forwards.

i am concerned about the Maric trade.

Cameron told the Crows that they are not prepared to give up compo pick and that we could have 37 and a player.

Problem is that they dont have anything we would really want outside of their jets.

Connors not that wrapt with.

Nason no.

Thursfield no thanks.

I wouldnt mind Helbig but they would not want to let him go.

We have traded for quality so far.

I dont want spuds being traded for.

Richmond in my view screwed us over big time with Tambo.

We dont want to let them do it again.

Edwards - a quick mid-fielder - might be acceptable. SA boy as well.

I'd take pick 37 plus Edwards for Maric and our 3rd rounder from Hawthorn.

No but we paid well over the odds.

I looked at their list and it just doent have much there to want.

I have a bad feeing about this.

Hopefully a third club can get involved.

Next thing to do is to try and get Armstrong to Sydney and get Seaby to ontrade to Port for pick/pick exchange.

-Adelaide
Lose: Armstrong + 64
Gain: Pick 33 OR 29 (Most likely 33)
Port
Lose: Pick 33
Gain: Seaby
Sydney
Lose: Seaby
Gain: Armstrong + 64

-Pick 46 > Lynch
-Pick 33 + Maric > Bock Compensation Pick
-Bock Compensation Pick > Lycett OR Koby Stevens

I don't think so.

Sanderson has to get the confidence of this group of players, and if we trade players other than those that asked to be traded - given the number of them that we already are - it would be unsettling.

I disagree as the players know the nature of the beast these days that players get traded and it will show the others players that he is serious and will do what it takes to win.

He will build and develop the players confidence in his style of play in no time anyway.

Edwards is not as bad as Myke Cook but geez he turns over the ball a lot Macca.

The good thing about Crouch and Brown is that they are both elite kicks.

We have a midfield that burns the ball, why do you think we have just secured two mids with great skills?

I accept the comments re Edwards burning the ball.

The problem is that there aren't too many players that Richmond would be prepared to release to the best of my knowledge.

We all should keep this in mind:thumbsu:

Do we have poor skills or do the players have non****ing idea where to run, lead or move to?

Skills are fine, we burn the ball because the players are moving to position X and the ball is getting kicked/handballed to position Y. Poor game plan and understanding of the methodolegy.

I agree with you Alex.

On the odd occasion when our forward line spread far and wide creating many options, our delivery was fine.

It is all about the game plan - in particular the spread up forward.

You are letting the players off too easily. Danger burns it. Thommo burns it. Douglas burns it. Knights burns it.Sloane can, so can VB.

I like the sound of Connors with some Richmond supporters thinking his best position is HFF (could fill the spot Gunston left). Connors has shown a lot of potential in 2010 and struggled all of this year with injury. We have the chance to pick up someone very cheap who could really benefit our side.

I really don't want Edwards, this guy has a heap of speed but he has no idea whatsoever when it comes to disposing of it. The amount of times I've seen him pinned for holding the ball after getting clear because his too slow isn't funny and would drive me insane having him play for my team.

They said we weren't going to go for a mini draft pick - we did

They said we weren't going to trade Tippett - we're fielding offers

This isn't the last we've heard of it, and it's probably going to be the center piece news story during and after the Clark deal is done.

Also, Port Adelaide won a premiership with a very workman like midfield. All workman players, with no stars.

Cornes, Franco, Carr, salapek, Rodger James all good players who worked hard but no star players. They were all very effective players who did their job.

Not bagging them but they didn't have a Judd, Pendlebury or Ben Cousins. They drsfted and developed a midfield to do a job.

The midfield is the easiest group of players in the side to assemble.

Polak and Redden for pick 24 and Tippett would be a very easy decision for me.

You are right, we have a great midfield. Why are we wasting our time trading for mids?

Because any good side/premiership sides needs anywhere between 12 ans 14 players who can rotate through the midfield.
