Might stop some clubs tanking, if you trade a compo pick away you wanna finish as high as you can.FYI, I rang TW Radio this am and sought clarification on the band 2 compo process.
Wallace confirmed precisely, having checked with the AFL this morning, that band 2 picks come after the first round pick of the INITIAL RECIPIENT in the year that pick is activated. ie. not after the pick of the subsequent holder should it be traded
I might suggest, therefore, that if you were considering trading it, now might be a good year to do so as it's perceived value (given many clubs may suspect you are unlikely to challenge in 2012) is high.
Or, hold on to it and reap the benefits yourself
Of course, the ideal scenario would be to trade it for its perceived (high) value and then have such a good year that the compo pick becomes less valuable than it was expected to be
