Noble just confirmed we are looking at the 17 year old draft, given that we have some currency with the Davis pick.

I think we are on the right track, although Noble didnt give much away.

Agree. The annoying thing is though it would seem theres a bit of water to go under the bridge yet, and its not the done deal we were fapping over 30 minutes ago.

I can't stop thinking about Thompson, Danger, Sloane and Crouch all in the same midfield :)

I am super confident we will still turn out pretty good at the end of all this.

While Noble didn't comment on our interest in Crouch, he certainly hinted that our compo pick has high currency and that MD has consideration.

Other journalist (Quayle and Gleeson) are already reporting that Adelaide is the likely destination for Crouch.

If Emma is backing us than we are a mighty show for Crouch

If we have pick 2 I want us to simply pick the best player available. I think what throws a spanner in the works is Toumpas's performance against hardened sanfl footballers and not only that, but in a tense grand final. I've only seen crouch perform against boys, not saying we shouldn't take him though, but I think it's a tougher decision than some may think.

Without trying to be rude or instigate a fight or anything, that midfield group is no better or worse then most other midfields, Cotchin, Martin, Deledio, Conca, Foley and (2011 First round Pick) is a pretty decent midfield.

I just hope Adelaide doesn't give up to much to get into this MD, keep your picks and pick up 3 quality youngsters with your first 3 picks this year and save your Compo pick for next years draft.

Apparently prior to this trade circus we showed a keen interest in Crouch (prior to the National Championships IIRC). There is a suggestion that Sando may have some influence on us picking Crouch over Kennedy or Toumpas when we get the MD pick. Maybe he learned something about Crouch from when he was at Geelong (presuming that they scouted intently him as well)? Looking forward to seeing another genuine gun mid on our list.:thumbsu:

Sam Day signs till 2014

Emma Quayle just pawned Rucci.

Rucci had reported that Brad Ebert had knocked back a trade to Geelong. According to Emma, Brad knows "zilch" about it and if there was a knock back it had to have been done by his manager.

whoops!

Why would we want to trade out of this draft completely? We have to wait for, if we got our hands on one of the 17 year olds, for the 2013 season. I want to pick up a talent in this draft too.

Neil Balme just said 'who?' when asked about Brad Ebert....

Rucci, stop it.

Geelong has not spoken to Ebert. Source Neil Balme.

What a w***er, clearly creating misinformation to scare other sides off of Ebert; if he wont go to the best side in the country for a decent pick - why would anybody outside of Port bother even talking to him?

Gives Sando a year to get bedded in and sort out the wheat from the chaff, gives us two potential superstars who can hit the ground running in 2013.

I'm happy to wait given the apparent calibre of the players in question.

Rooch is on fire this week.

Also looking forward to our 'bonanza' 2 end of first round picks for Tippett. :thumbsu:
