So, there's another trade week done and dusted. Despite weeks/months of rumour and inuendo, nothing happened to our list.

We are officially stuck with the same set of spuds for next year.

God help us all!

I never thought we would get anyone anyway, i'm not to fussed. Bring on the draft

Thats the problem we never seem to be proactive.

I hope we get some great picks in the draft.

Prismall and Warnock perfered other clubs over us,so they must'nt rate us that highly with Warnocks brother playing for us and Prismall good friends with Brock.
Another year of nothing in the trade, i know everyone will say were rebuilding but even when we werent will still couldnt get anyone to the club.
Imo were like collingwood always chasing but can never land the player, but there got better facilities and more members.

The only real disappointment was that we were unable to offload Carroll to St Kilda - that one got my hopes up.

At the end of the day, not making any trades allows us to continue to focus on rebuilding through the draft. In any event, the best recruits Melbourne will have next year will be Rivers, McLean, Moloney and Grimes who didn't play much footy last year.

Lets be honest, there were no real young superstars on offer. None of us really know anything about Warnock, other than some coaches love him and that he couldn't yet get a game in a pretty ordinary side.

Watts will give us reason to be excited, but anyone under the impression that a couple of trades might transform us immediately were in need of a reality check. Hawthorn and Geelong built super teams through the draft - it is what we must do, but it takes time.
