he has just signed a new 2 deal.

lol, no one at essendon would be stupid enough to do that trade anyway.

That's got to be the most ludicrous trade suggestion I've heard so far.

Here's a tip, don't look at an underperforming player from your club whom you want to dispense with and a young tough nut from another club whom you wouldn't mind at your club and think that's a fair trade. Try adding a second/third round draft pick and you might be closer. Essendon fans may even suggest that's unfair.

Greg Tivendale for Andrew Welsh

Is your post count the same as your age?

Aside from Welsh signing a new 2 year deal, he is part of the future of our club. Already in the leadership group and even perhaps a future captain. Tough as nails and bleeds red and black.

Tivendale wouldn't get a game with us.

granted

Tivendale is a player who would benefit playing in a better side, Essendon lack pace and class in the midfield, Tivendale could fill the void. I was unaware that Walsh had re-signed

Stanton, Dyson, Lovett, Winderlich, Lovett-Murray. Plus Ramanauskas.
We have addressed our lack of pace in the midfield (and Tivendale isn't quick).
It was our pace in the midfield that turned around our form in the second half of the year.

We have pace covered, we need another proven ball winner and goal kicker. And you need to watch more footy.

Firstly its Welsh, not Walsh

Secondly why would Essendon trade for a player near 30 who is close to being delisted for a 5th year player who has not been dropped from the side for 3 years :confused:

Thirdly as Longy pointed out, speed is no longer an issue.

Our needs are a tough in and under midfielder to help out the Johnsons, a key defender in case Fletcher or Bradley go down or a small forward.

Last time I looked Tivendale filled none of these categories.

Who are you Jabso??? Do you know Ben Davies?? And no way, Chris Newman is a quality player and Terry Wallace aint dumb enough to let him go.

I am Jabso and Ben Davies plays for Collingwood and wears #41 and is on the rookie list.

In the recent tradition of Carlton & Essendon trading NUFF NUFF's for SPAZZO's how about;

* Prendergast for Henneman
* Bowyer for Reynolds

The positives for both clubs are that they can hate & laugh at 2 different players next year, rather than the same old' same old.
