Dont jump down my throat. Our only decent trade bait.

Seems like he will always have trouble with his groin region and will need constant care a rehiblitation through out his carreer. Not saying he cant come good but would it be wise long term too throw his name out and see what we could get for him.

I love the way he plays and he is probably the best hard ball getter in the comp so we would get a hansom reward for his services.

Thoughts.

P.S heard a rumour that the Tigs will trade a big name player, "that the tig's supporters wont be happy about".

if the price was right you would have to think about it, but only because of the o.p. and it would have to be good, i mean REALLY good, and lets face it, its not likely to be that good.

Definatly not.

As cogs24 said, the only player I'd want for Coughlan is Judd. Cogs will be better next year, you couldnt imagine how tired he would be after missing so much footy and then be expected to play a massive role in the midfield.

Get lost. Coughlan isn't going anywhere :( Some of you supporters make me sick. He was one of our best players and future captain.

Strange thing is, he is still one of our best players and you wouldnt say he is at 100%. No way are we offloading someone like Coughlan.

Lockett got traded. Best ever FF.
Spider got traded.
Hall got traded.

Ottens was a favourite son as well. Lets look at whats best for the club. I'm sure a fit and firing Cogs is the best for the Club, but if his injuries keep restricting him and he doesn't seem like he will ever get over it( when was the last time you saw him kick over fifty metres).

It's a type of injury that will always be with him.

The idea that Cog's is not contributing at the moment is not my point. Infact he may win the Jack Dyer. My point is wether or not will we continue getting a contribution from him.
And thats something we do not know. Would we better off getting something for him now? or should we keep our figures crossed everytime he runs out on the field.

In away I'm playing devil's advocate and I would love to see Cog's finish his carreer at tigerland. But ......

This idea got kicked around a week ago nut .... and i was quite surprised by the amount of people that were reasonably receptive to it , myself included .

The price would have to very , very , very right .

There is a fair bit of smoke hanging around the bloke at the minute , wonder if there is any fire ?

Guys dont keep a close mind. I'd love to keep Coughlan, but you always have to be looking for opportunities to strengthen the team.

Early pick being the right price and also a player. Wallace has been talking the fact we haven't got players between 22-26 and and we have traded away some pretty good draft picks over the years.
He may try and reverse this.

No-ne would have thought Woey was going to be traded until that happened.

I personally don't care either way, although I do think Cogs will struggle with injury. Maybe the warmer weather in Perth may suit him.

I'ts an interesting topic. As much as i would love to keep cogs, i would take a deal if it was suitable.

Also Nut, how reliable is your source RE: A big name will be traded?

Third hand, from someone close to the club. And this got me thinking. Who? Cogs maybe? No one else seems to fit.

I for one do not have any loyalty to one Richmond player (except Richo), I would like to think the powers to be will play hard ball off and on the field so we continue the improvements we made this year.

cheers mate, try your hardest to figure the player. :D It may be what richmond needs to restructure the club. big name players i would include:

Brown- highly doubtful
Richo- Highly doubtful
Sugar- Doubtful
Bowden- Possibility
Coughlan- Possibility

Newman, Hyde and Krakouer may be other names, however they arnt 'big names' that supporters will be overly dissapointed in.

Whats Bowden's current contract? He's highly rated and would be at his prime for the best possible trade deal.

What if the price is right? i dont want him to go either. But i also didnt want ottens to go, we have benifitted from that deal. So if the price is right, take it.
