What I don't understand is... how is it that people rate Roughead our "BEST CHB" when lets be honest, he has NEVER really played there ever? When he takes marks in the backline... HE IS A FREE MAN WANDERING DOWN!

Roughead is a forward!
Spent 2005-2006 and a portion of 2007 at FB/CHB, more then holding his own

Do you think he will get a gig Roddy.

Hard to say. I would like him to, and i do believe he did everything in his power to get himself a year on the rookie list. However, he had a lot of ground to make up due to a relatively poor second half of last year, and i guess it's whether or not the club feels they can develop him or not.

Not develop, but have him find consistency. Could be a star at a quality club.

I hope they send him to the draft......please footy Gods please......

No club will risk IMO picking up a player at that price who will spend his entire contact sooking. Personally I hope they pay the overs and continues to under perform - imagine how your underpaid team mates will feel then.

Surely development and consistency go hand in hand?

I don't know if Jackson can be a star, what i do know is that his year this year was super impressive. Particularly when you look at the environment of NSW football at the moment, and how it is being dominated by the two academies. If it were me, i would consider the money that needed to be spent on him as a rookie as a worthwhile risk- particularly as from a cap perspective, he sits outside that and outside the rookie list in his first year.

Just heard it from the same place I heard Brian Lake from like 2 mins prior to it being confirmed... if its taken this long it may and I am hoping its bullshit...

Hi all

I've got a very strong felling that will be hearing of Tom Gillies joining the hawks at the expense of Stephen Gilham. JMHO

A year ago the 22-year-old was targeted by Hawthorn, but Geelong refused to do a deal with the Hawks.

"Hawthorn were really hot on him last year," It went on and on and back and forth and nothing happened.

He was contracted so he stayed where he was.

This year it's the same sort of situation, except that he's not contracted.

How do others feel about this, if this was to really happen?????

If the club thinks Gillies is worth a go and we get him for our last pick then I will be ok with it.

Rookie list would be my preference (if at all) but I trust the club's judgement.

Wouldn't surprise me one bit.
