This year's draft is supposedly a "Super Draft" whereas 2011 wasn't anywhere as good.
In that sense, I would not trade Toy for pick 28.
At this point, he would be worth a 2nd-3rd Round pick.

Saints would be better off getting Gilham from us for a 4th-6th rounder ;)

Quick we only have 1 day to trade Buddy to West Coast then.
What would be adequate compensation?

Buddy and Bailey to West Coast for Nic Nat, Gaff, Mitch Brown and pick 25 and 26 from St Kilda.
St Kilda get Mitch Brown from Hawks.

Would anyone do that trade?

75% of their side appears to be over 2meters tall when we play them so somehow, coupled with having Cox, I think they'll politely decline on the Bailey offer...

Yep, never gonna trust players on their playing career again.

With the exception of Brad Sewell and co. Real genuine, honest players
If Brad wanted to leave you would not hold a grudge, he has been up for trade for a few years.....so what does he owe Hawthorn?

My personal opinion is Buddy will stay at HFC.....as long as his little bum chum Gibbo is there....so strategy is sign them both up.....

Carlton have sent unrestricted free agent Jordan Russell to Collingwood in exchange for pick 71 in the national draft.
First of all i thought FA was over, but even if it wasn't, a player could walk to any club of there choice if there was interest.
So how did Carlton manege to get pick 71 from Collinwood for Unrestricted FA Player?????
And we get pick 66 as compensation fro AFL for both Young and Murphy as FA players, now I'm really confused!!!!

Toy's manager Liam Pickering said today he didnt think a deal would be struck before tomorrow's 2pm deadline. If this is the case I believe he will be delisted as Gold Coast have agreed to help him return to Melbourne next year. As I understand it he would then be eligible for the next stage of free agency and we could pick him up for effectively nothing more than a spot on our list.
It shaping up that Gilham could leave us and find a new home in similar circumstances. If this happens we could bring in Toy for Gilham in what would effectively be a straight swap which would seem more favourable than the majority of trades that have been suggested to bring Toy to the club.

If he gets delisted wouldn't the Bulldogs or Essendon pick him up before us in the draft

There is a free agency period for delisted players....this is before the draft.

November 1 – Commencement to Gillette AFL Delisted Player Free Agency Period.
November 13, 2pm – End to Gillette AFL Delisted Player Free Agency Period.

November 23 – Second Gillette AFL Delisted Player Free Agency Period commences.
November 28, 5pm – Second Gillette AFL Delisted Player Free Agency Period ends

If a player is delisted (as opposed to quitting a club) he can go to any club he wishes:
http://www.triplem.com.au/adelaide/...12-and-the-rules-explained/20120903-h40j.html

A player has served seven seasons or less of AFL football at one club, and has been delisted by his club.
- The player is a Free Agent and is eligible to field offers from all rival AFL clubs.
- The player must decide on the best offer of his choice from one rival club.
- The player can move AUTOMATICALLY to the new club of his choice.
- His original club, which chose to delist him, does not receive any compensation pick for the loss of the player.

We have to count on Gold coast delisting him....and for Toy to then choose Hawthorn.

Maybe we don't want him, doesn't have the 'ticker':D

Well, if we don't won't him, then why are we looking at him.
He is worth the risk for a late pick or a swap with Gilham.

Aaron Edwards is a player that we can pick with one of our third round picks:

And Richmond announced on its club website on Thursday afternoon that it was "close to finalising" a trade for North Melbourne forward Aaron Edwards. The Tigers have currently offered their fourth-round pick, No.74, for Edwards, but North is holding out for a slightly better offer.

Thoughts????

What for.......what need does he cover? who does he knock out of the forward line...Gunston Roughead Franklin Breust etc ?

Our needs right now are in the midfield/rotations/depth.

Sends Poupollo in the back line were he played his best footy at 2011!!
He can take a strong grab and add plenty of forward pressure as a strong body player at:
Height 185cm
Weight 92kg

Edwards noticeably lifted his work rate in 2011 and often drew his opponent up the ground to create space for Drew Petrie. His fifth season at North was his best as he notched career highs for games (19) and goals (36) and led the AFL in goalkicking accuracy (36.8 at an 81.8 per cent conversion rate

Has Hawthorn finished in this trade period or what the only news is on here with people saying we want this person and that person.

You know all that talk about us being interested in Matt Campbell, Nathan Carroll and Bret Thornton are simply a piss take, don't you?
Why the hell would the hell would we be interested in a hack?
