You know all that talk about us being interested in Matt Campbell, Nathan Carroll and Bret Thornton are simply a piss take, don't you?
Why the hell would the hell would we be interested in a hack?

Ah, beg to differ there, Nathan Carroll will be at Hawthorn next year. Whether he caves-in to the pleading, begging and straight out sobbing from his new teammates and accepts the captaincy remains to be seen, but the intimidating, strutting figure of The Great Man will stand bloody tall in the brown and gold.

He's the missing link, alright.

Sends Poupollo in the back line were he played his best footy at 2011!!
He can take a strong grab and add plenty of forward pressure as a strong body player at:
Height 185cm
Weight 92kg

Edwards noticeably lifted his work rate in 2011 and often drew his opponent up the ground to create space for Drew Petrie. His fifth season at North was his best as he notched career highs for games (19) and goals (36) and led the AFL in goalkicking accuracy (36.8 at an 81.8 per cent conversion rate

Think about what you're saying.....send Puopolo to the back pocket, who's spot does he take ?

Its defensive forward or bust for Poo, Like i said in another thread his last quarter of the season was very poor, his pressure was really down compared to the first-mid part of the season.....it either suggests he was burnt out like others in our side or he was carrying something.

Bacause of this plain and simply, led the AFL in goalkicking accuracy (36.8 at an 81.8 per cent conversion rate!!

We need someone that can kick strait in our forward line apart from Gunston, and Breust!!

What for.......what need does he cover? who does he knock out of the forward line...Gunston Roughead Franklin Breust etc ?

Our needs right now are in the midfield/rotations/depth.

He can kick straight. :p

I think coaches paying closer attention to Puopolo also had something to do with it. He showed he could be dangerous if not shown the right level of respect and coaches spent time finding out how to curve his influence. Poppy should take it as a compliment and use this to take him to the next level knowing he belongs at AFL level footy.

And how did North go with his impeccable shooting at goal?

By the way, Gunston says hello.

How about reduce the season proper to a month, then extend trad/draft/FA to 28 weeks?

Reverse it all up.

Edwards started out the year on fire with 11 goals in the first three games. He continued his impressive accuracy with only one behind in that time and provided a good foil for Drew Petrie.

However as the team's form dipped, so did Edwards’. Possibly due to reduced midfield supply, he was unable to get as much of the football and kicked just six goals in the next six games.

Unluckily for him, the forward line hit its straps after his demotion in Round 10, meaning the veteran didn't play another game for the year after the heavy loss to Hawthorn. He was still impressive at VFL level for North Ballarat.

Nice troll.

But if you're not trolling, get your hand off it, Mrs Edwards, your son is a spud.

This years trade period is obviously too long !
The suggestion of Aaron Edwards as a trade target is proof some people are bored, stupid or just taking the piss!

Maybe you're right out of all those three words!!

BORD..... will most definitely be a word in high demand as this trade period continues do drag on and on!!!!!

PS Apparently just got confirmed Edwards will sign on as a tiger tomorrow!!

So this means that the Richmond coaching and co. must be stupid accoring to you!!!!

RICHMOND is completing the paperwork on a trade deal for North Melbourne high-flyer Aaron Edwards.
The Roos forward did a fitness test at Tigerland yesterday and the Richmond website has been updated late today to say the Tigers are "close to finalising a trade deal to secure Edwards' services".

I still want Josh Toy!!! Think the kid has a huge upside and playing in Victoria may settle him down and help him rekindle his pre-AFL talent.

Hope we can make that happen pre 2pm. Fingers crossed.

What would it take to get Trent McKenzie to Hawthorn? Our recruiters are always on the lookout for players that tend to use the ball well, Trent would probably be in the top 10 in the comp right now. I know it is wishful thinking but seriously how good would it be to somehow pick up a kid like Trent after the debacle with Young.
You would probably have to give up a decent player for him and our first pick in exchange for Trent and some latter picks.

Richard Tambling says hello

Josh Kennedy, remember him, who led the competition this year in both clearances and contested possessions (the two most important stats for an inside midfielder this year) would really like to say hello to you also!!!!!!!

Come on be serious, Tiges do not have Bud, Rough, Breust, Gunner, Rioli etc... There is no room for Edwards in the Hawks forward line. Tigers can probably use him, we cannot.

Are you really comparing Aaron Edwards with Josh Kennedy?

Can't believe more people haven't jumped on this comment. The past 30 years haven't exactly proven them to be Einsteins...

Edwards would be handy at Box Hill which lacks forwards but this thread is not about recruiting for Box Hill. Or is it???????

My wish-list for today:

Gilham for Toy
Ellis for Stef Martin

Martin becomes our back-up tall, only he can play fwd or ruck as well as back.
Toy replaces Ellis - both highly rated as youngsters, both have issues but Toy is younger, more upside.
Melbourne may appreciate X's leadership off-field as they rebuild their culture.

Gilham for Toy probably favors us but if GC want a tall defender and Toy is leaving anyway, they just might do it. I would throw in pick 66 but they probably wouldn't use it so why bother?

Everybody's got a dream. That's mine, for today.
