We also lost Boumann who was our only other KPD back up. Be good to have someone on the list who can play back if needed.

We have that as well, he's called Jarryd Roughead but hasn't been required there of late.

Our KPD are now Lake, Gibson and Shoenmakers with Roughy as back up. Boumann was no better than Kelly or Boseley at Box Hill so we may as well give them a go if required.

What we need is Bailey, McCauley, Lowden or Grimley to step up (or step down) so that Roughead isn't required in the ruck. After Roughy did his achilles last year Clarko said he wouldn't be getting used in the ruck any more but went back on that as the ruck depth didn't materialize.

We do need a backup, and Roughhead will not play back.

Please I am waiting for this guy's name to come up....

The most that will happen out of this is Adelaide may be stripped of a draft selection if they went outside of the rules. Compared to Carlton's dealings and resultant punishments a few years back I would think that at most it is likely to be a 2nd round pick and probably next year as it is a bit late to implement this year.

Tippett may face a similar situation to Greg Williams going from Sydney to Carlton when he was suspended for a few games for draft tampering. This deal doesn't seem much different to Nathan Buckley signing for one year with Brisbane and a guarantee that he would be traded to Collingwood the next.

The end result is that Tippett will still get to Sydney but may get a little slap on the wrist. The AFL needs success in Sydney so they will get a more lenient result and at any rate the Swans haven't done anything wrong here.

I will be glad if Sydney and up with Tippet as i think they will be making the worse decision, and will be worse off as a team!!
Tippet is massively over raided IMO!! He only looked good in the prelim against us, because we had know one to match his height!!

How many stand out games has he had before the Prelim, to be worth as much $$$$$ as his currently worth???

I wouldn't if I thought they were equivalent. But I think Rodan could be a lot better than Puopolo in the role and would be at least as good. And it is not like we would be wasting a pick on him. We haven't got any high picks to waste. He would be a depth player on our list, with the potential to improve our team if he can find his best form. There is no risk with it. Nothing against Puopolo.
Rodan likely to join Dees now who have been watching Voss's list management skills at loading up a team with 2nd raters.

How many Young's are too many? Collingwood got Clinton so they jettisoned Tom off to the doggies.

My comments were tongue in cheek. Adelaide and Sydney will both have a realistic chance at the flag next year. Just revelling the fact that our rivals may find things a little tougher.

How many capable tall forwards are in the league?

He is rated because they are rare.

7-gamer Tom Young goes to the Dogs for pick 70...

So Clint Young, 100+ games and 2 GF's, wanted by 5 clubs, is worth pick 67.
Tom Young, 7 forgettable games and wanted only by the desperate Dogs, is worth pick 70

?:confused:o_O:thumbsdown:

It's not just that the Dawes, Wellingham, Hickey and Tom Lee trades all had weirdly high draft picks traded. It's hard to gauge how good or bad AFL clubs think this draft is.

That and shit clubs (and this is where you guys got stung & Port for eg did well) are having to pay waaaaaay overs to get players in.
They've created a two-tiered "economy".
Young would've been on Pearce/Chaplin money (hence compensation) had he gone to Melbourne or Brisbane etc.
But if someone wants to come to Hawthorn or Collingwood etc, it's going to take a lot more money to shake them.

OhhhhNo!!!!! The rumours have stared all ready!!!

Dockers are going to have a massive crack at Lance Franklin 1.5 mill a year for Buddy which will be a restricted free agent in 12 months!!

Hawks better sign Buddy up to a new deal, early in the year, or else it will turn out to be another Cloke saga!!! Which can properly cause us to loose our focus, in winning the flag in 2013!!

Toy looks like entering the draft with Pickering saying that he doubts a deal will get done by tommorow

Worth our first pick? Us, the dogs and Essendon are reported to be interested with the bulldogs first pick after 5/6 is 22 and the bombers' is 35

Terry Wallace is a flog. Says Schoey isn't in our best 22 as a backman next year and suggests he plays forward. So he wants to have Roughy, Bud, gunny and Schoe up forward....

No wonder he failed at coaching

It's just an opinion mate.

I'd take a punt on him for 28 personally. Throw in Gilham as sweetener if it means trumping the bulldogs with pick 22.

Are young players better if they come from the draft? Would we have been better off going to the draft than picking up Gunston last year?

I know nothing of Toy other than the 'he was a gun jnr and is now a pleb with a heart condition' media reports but if the club sees him as value then I wouldn't be against recruiting a guy who is a couple of years older than most potential draftees.

I have no problem picking Toy up but what has made it very difficult for us is that we would have been expecting a second rounder for Young and that may have been good enough to bundle with Gilham for Toy. I am not sure I want to use pick 28 on Toy when that makes our first pick in the draft at 65. If we had that pick 40 odd I would be all for it but I definitely don't want our first pick to be 65 in such a good early draft

I agree, I would trade Gilham and a late pick for Toy if necessary
