My wish-list for today:

Gilham for Toy
Ellis for Stef Martin

Martin becomes our back-up tall, only he can play fwd or ruck as well as back.
Toy replaces Ellis - both highly rated as youngsters, both have issues but Toy is younger, more upside.
Melbourne may appreciate X's leadership off-field as they rebuild their culture.

Gilham for Toy probably favors us but if GC want a tall defender and Toy is leaving anyway, they just might do it. I would throw in pick 66 but they probably wouldn't use it so why bother?

Everybody's got a dream. That's mine, for today.

So what's the go with Toy?

Is he going to be able to play AFL footy with his heart condition?
If his heart is unable to go over 100bpm surely he cant play AFL footy or is it just a plan to get the trade with not giving much at all?

I am no medical expert but if you cannot get your heart rate above 100bpm doesnt this restrict you when playing a sport like AFL?

Hawks failed with thorp and dowler. I get the feeling we are determined to prove everyone wrong on Xavier and he will remain with us for the next 5 years.

Maybe you're right out of all those three words!!

BORD..... will most definitely be a word in high demand as this trade period continues do drag on and on!!!!!

PS Apparently just got confirmed Edwards will sign on as a tiger tomorrow!!

So this means that the Richmond coaching and co. must be stupid accoring to you!!!!

RICHMOND is completing the paperwork on a trade deal for North Melbourne high-flyer Aaron Edwards.
The Roos forward did a fitness test at Tigerland yesterday and the Richmond website has been updated late today to say the Tigers are "close to finalising a trade deal to secure Edwards' services".

http://www.theaustralian.com.au/new...hmond/story-e6frg6n6-1226503124961[/quote]Jim Wilson reported on Sky about 10 mins ago ,Edwards is now a tiger.Damn ! we missed out again:rolleyes:

Pretty sure that this was dismissed by Toy and/or his management wasn't it?

I'm not advocating trading for him, we have been burnt before by drafting kids with known injuries/issues, but I think this "can't get over 100bpm" is rubbish.

Just started reading this thread again. We may aswell trade for the dump i took if we are serious about trading for Edwards. I still dont understand why there is a fascination of trading for someone who cant make it at norf or dees.

I still want Josh Toy!!! Think the kid has a huge upside and playing in Victoria may settle him down and help him rekindle his pre-AFL talent.

Hope we can make that happen pre 2pm. Fingers crossed.

I agree,:) we should give him a chance, he has a lot of upside

Toy looks good in hawthorn side if trade gets done. good kick. who misses out for him? is schoenmakers under pressure in defence with Lake?
Hawks have def spoken to Toy and his management ... very keen.

I think you might just be right on that one...

Can't believe more people haven't jumped on this comment. The past 30 years haven't exactly proven them to be Einsteins...

National 1 6 Mitchell Thorp 2
National 2 24 Brent Renouf Port Adelaide 52
National 2 33 Jarryd Morton 22
National 3 40 Father/Son Josh Kennedy Sydney 13
National 4 56 Garry Moss 14
Pre-Season 1 5 Josh Thurgood 2
Rookie 1 6 Brett Collins 0
Rookie 2 22 Matthew Suckling Hawthorn 54
Rookie 3 37
Sam Gibson
North Melbourne 0
So how many from this list are still at our club:
Just a small example that we can all get it wrong at times, just as Richmond
in the 2004 draft by missing out on picking Franklin etc....

Anyways Richmond were smart enough and good enough to thrash us this year
so the tigers have done good with picking up a good coach, and a few good players in the last couple years!!
So please lets not get to ahead of our self's!!!

Hey TeamPlayer23, take it easy. Yes I think if Hawks traded for Edwards its stupid. Wouldn't get a game in our forward line, and we have bigger needs elsewhere. Good luck to him at Tigers, is a chance to get a game in their forward line, but suggesting he could replace one of our forwards is stupid!

Gold Coast Suns list manager Marcus Ashcroft said midfielder Josh Toy will be at a new club in 2013. Hawthorn, Essendon and the Bulldogs have been mentioned in relation to the midfielder. It's looking more likely he'll get a new home via the national draft at this stage. Melbourne could swoop there.

In footy season you play footy. In trade Season you trade. I just need one more trade, I need it bad.

hehe, I love the lingo around trades. It's always swoop, lure, snare or nabbed. Getting someone to your club is never a nice thing.

Well if we are trading for the sake of it can we atleast go by the BF tradition of winning the trade.

eg Gilham for GC's 1sr rounder or saints 1st rounder.

Not F$%@in Aaron Spudwards.

If you go back a few posts and read my original post, about Edwards, there was Sarcasm involved, by me saying that the guy could be a good pick up because of his accurate kicking!!
Others here desired to make a big deal about it, so i just went a long with it!!
Its called been bored with this stupid trade period just dragging on forever!!!!
The Sensitivity is amassing with some on here, really is!!!
