Bollenhagen and Sumner would be very handy acquisitions in my opinion. Both quite silky link up players who could give some much needed quality ball into the likes of Butcher, Schulz and whatnot (I am an Essendon fan based in S.A, but Attend most port home games, lets call it a soft spot for them).

Anyway, a pretty reliable source says that Bolly is homesick, ironically like most of the other young S.A boys not playing consistent footy, and would like to come home. Plays a bit like Clinton Young or Grant Birchall from the Hawks, with a bit more dash. Has the skills, but not the aggressiveness which I think would compliment the likes of Thomas, Rodan etc and link up very well with the likes of Hartlett.

Been thinking

If Lobbe can get himself up to Goldstein/Luenberger status next season.

I've been looking at drafts and rucks take 5 years to really impact. Could this be Lobbes year.

We need a support ruck for Lobbes, like a Griffin, or so.

I think we need a Cyril/Garlett/Betts type player. Super quick, don't think we have one, cam hitchock doesn't count.

I want Maric, or draft Longer and we won't have this problem as he is good to go round 1

i doubt we will be big players in the trade market but would be nice to have a little list of the out of state sa boys who havent re-signed with their clubs yet.

bollenhagen seems to be one.

christian howard according to a dogs poster on the crows board ( im not sure if true, doesnt seem likely he would go anywhere after only 2 years??)

is hayden jolly signed with gc? ( im unsure whether he would have signed a 2 or 3 yr deal when he was taken as an under 17 prospect. 22yr deal would see him out of contract now...)

^^WTF?

So you want pick 6 and Motlop for Griffin. Bigfooty hey!? Brings em out.

I apologise if you meant the Griffen from the Dogs.

Actually about that... Since you guys have pick 6, Would Port Adelaide Power trade that pick to Lure Ryan Griffen back to SA?

Hell yes. Would snatch arms/legs and any other appendages off doing that deal!

That would seem a good Idea.

Ryan griffen/Cassisi/Boak in the middle. That would be a good combo.

If Cooney didnt have a knee injury he would of been a good addition as well.

No way would I trade him for pick 6...

Griffen is 25, and we are shit. He will likely be off the boil by the time we contest again. I reckon it would be a bad trade for everyone.

Would deal for Griffen. He's a deadset gun player and we'd be a far better side with him. He'll stay at the Dogs though, can't see him wanting to come home...he was a Crows fan, not that it has anything to do with it really

Being a far better side with Griffen in it for the next 3 or 4 years while he's in his peak = maybe the difference between bottom 8 and mid-table in the top 8.

Being a far better side with pick 6 in it beyond those 3 or 4 years while Butcher, Boak, Hartlett, Gray, Trengove etc. are at their peak = maybe the difference between mid-table in the top 8 and a premiership.

We need to get our priorities right.

Exactly. "We exist to win premierships" not "we exist to make finals".

Getting Griffen would be plausible if we were close to a flag and akin to getting Wakelin, Choppy or Hardwick - the little extra bit of class that we need to push us over the edge.

It will be players like Trengove from Melbourne, Day and others that we will be gunning for in the next few years when our list solidifies and they can see that we are close to winning a flag. No point in paying overs for players, no matter how good they are, until that time.

Re: Jon Griffin to Port?

Was it ever a good idea to start discussing Ryan Griffen in a thread about Jon Griffin? Seriously? Freomaniac must have been stroking a white cat and laughing evilly when he did that, and it has worked.

Sorry for my late reply for the obvious reasons at my club.:)

no I got no interest stirring the pot on other teams threads.

it gets confusing sometimes at one point in history there were 2 david kings and 2 nathan browns.

Im just curious what your team is going to do as your team has the better cards. Im almost certain Port will be quiet during trade week... Looking at your list in 2012 Port Adelaide will have overall the 4th youngest list behind the giants, suns and the tigers.

And since you guys finished below my mob you can get an experienced player before my mob in the PSD.

I know you are thinking of players from other clubs that are out of favoured at the moment.
