Didn't head down but the weather is really nice. Low 20's but sunny with a bit of a breeze :) Should've been nice down at West Lakes.

I have clicked on this site numerous times today awaiting a training report.

Gee, you know you're desperate for some football when you hang out all day for a report on training....

Come on Football. Hurry back, I miss you.

Lots of love,
Biff.

Ok well I'll post a few things as I went down and it doesn't seem like too many other BF posters made the journey down there.

It was a good session today with lots of skill work involved interspersed with lots of gameplay activity. The rehab group consisted of VB, Symesy, Moran, Gunston and Wright. They ran bloody hard though and would have done numeorus 50m builds and sprints and they were stuffed by the end of it. I think it was one of Matt Wright's first sessions and he was well and truly spent but was still working hard which was good to see. Danger and Jaensch did their own running and worked hard with lots of interval type training and danger didn't seem to held back by the knee even though it was heavily strapped. He looked fantastic today and he was itching to push himself but numerous times the fitness guys had to say, "remember danger, only 80% mate". Talia and Bocky did their running together and worked extremely hard, Bock starting to build that fitness base back up.

In the gameplay stuff it was very physical and vocal and the boys were getting right into it. It was an end-zone type of game which they have played before. They were going bloody hard though and were very competitive. A numbe of times there were shouts of...how far....and holding the ball!! Some fierce tackles being laid also. They were still focussing on moving the ball quickly and playing on as much as possible and some of the younger agile guys looked really good getting 1-2's and sidesteps. However, the older guys such as Edwards, Goody, Thommo just read the play so well and their pressure on the ball carrier and the reciever was outstanding and Bicks was full of praise whenever anyone closed down the space and pressure the ball carrier.

All of the usual boys looked good, Vince, Tippo, D-Mac, Goody, Thommo all looked great. One thing that was good to see was young shaw really take the game on today, he went in and got the loose ball and tapped it to himself whilst dodging players then sidestepped a couple of players gave the hands got it back and kept going much to craigys vocal delight.

Hard to give a best trainer award but I have to say it would be the guys doing the running, VB was looking fantastic and while all the other were hunched over after their repeat sprints he was standing on the sidelines yelling encouragement to other guys who were playing in the game. The rehab group, Bock, Talia deserve the credit of best trainers just because they worked so bloody hard today.

Any questions or specific player stuff let me know and I'll hope to be able to help!

Thanks for the report mate, by any chance was Porps and Knights down their in the rehab group or anything?

Awesome work Crows88, really appreciate the report :thumbsu: Delighted to hear Danger is looking good, no surprise that he refuses to go at less than 100% :p Also great to hear they're really getting into the gameday drills, last week when I was there they were lacking a bit of intensity and Craig got stuck into them so they've obviously come out this week trying to really improve on that effort.

Awesome that Wrighty is finally here with the group :thumbsu: Is he injured or just lacking in fitness I wonder? I should probably know but it slips my mind :o

Looking forward to getting back out there on Thursday :thumbsu:

Want to use any more :thumbsu:'s Stabby?

Wrighty was overseas wasn't he?

They've changed Thursdays session to 8.30am because of their photo/video shoot. I was considering going, then I saw that and thought no way! Then I thought about going on Monday, but I'm going to Normanville for the long weekend, so now I'll just have to wait until they come to the Bridge in early Feb to see them again :), which I'm totally not excited about....:D

It was too positive a report not to give that many thumbs up :D

Wright was overseas but I guess he's back now!

Serious? It's changed to 8:30? Damn it, I don't want to get there at 8:30 :o What time is the photoshoot? I wouldn't mind being an hour late if they go for three hours like they did last time but it would be a pity to make my way there only to have them finish up 30 minutes later.

He did his PCL midway through last years SANFL season. He was in the top group for the Magarey and missed the last 8-9 weeks and still finished very highly.

If you are having another Big Footy convention at training on Thursday, please note that the session will start earlier (about 8.30am). The official team photo shoot starts at 12.30pm so we need them to be off the track, showered and looking handsome earlier than normal.
