I was there for a bit, renewed my membership this morning. The backlines kicks under pressure certainly need improvement, around 80% were out on the full

Interesting that both Waite and Carlos seem to be in the defensive group, I'm guessing they are planning on Harts to play CHF next season, fingers crossed.

As BG said in her report Judd was giving it all he had, and is it just me or has Fev come back a little over-weight?

I just registered at the site and it worked for me.....

Bloody hot today, im surpised I hanged around till 1.

Today the injury group consisted of Fevola, Judd, Stevens, Fisher, Hadley, Aisake, Bentick and Anderson. They did an interesting drill. they had those fake men with their hands in the air (like a man on the mark) and each person had to handball it and try and hit them in one go. Fevola walked laps and then headed inside. The rest ran laps. Judd was doing very good, he has improved in his distance BUT he walked into the change rooms feeling sick. I think he may of over did it, especially with the heat.

The main group did long kicking drills, calling for the ball and there was always someone behind the person marking the footy to back them up. Once someone took a mark they would always get a cheer from someone saying good work or something like that.

Next they seperated into backline and midfield groups. Jackson was in the backline group. Once again the backline group was infront of me so I was concentrating on them. They did a drill when the footy was on the ground then you had to run and get it off the ground with someone chasing you then kick it. Although I don't know if there was a kicking target but they sucked when they went to kick it.

The main group came together and did some punching drills. Jumping on the specky bags and punching the footy away.

Last drill was kicking for goal. You buddied up and the ball will get thrown to you and you have to run away from your buddy and kick for goal.
Sheilds did this and Mark Riley yelled out goal of the day!

I think that's it. I know i'v missed something, but I don't know what...

Mich.

Nice note about Sheilds.

Stevo in the injury group? Is he still in it because of his neck or has he done something?

Jackson in the defensive group is interesting...maybe him running off half back next year?

Fantastic report once again BG! Hope you kept your fluids up....

Just wondering if there will be any pics of today's training session posted on BF?

It would be good to see how the boys are developing!

hello bluesgirl

i was at training too and had the chance to meet her.

Should be studying for you italian exam girl but ill give you 100% for your dedication.

Juddy has stepped up his speed another notch. Running 200 all morning, was absolutely spent by the end of it and had to go into the change rooms. The trainers asked him if he was ok he said nah im fn sick. March is to far away to see him in a Carlton jumber.

I would have been too if i was running as much as he was in that heat.

Walks went off the earliest. He told me that he pulled up pretty sore after Saturday's Session (I dont know if that was at training or on Sat night...LOL) nah it was from Sat training. Could have been a hammy or calf.

Fev does look a tad out of shape, but he hasnt done any running that i have seen. The reports are that his groins are in a $hit ATM and he is ever so slowly recovering. Watch this space, im getting a bit worried. So does Stevo.

Fisher is looking after his knees, that why he is in the recovery group.

Shilds will be on our Rookie list next year. Was told by one of the guys.
His kicking has improved so much in 2 weeks its incredible, but he still has a long way to go.

The backline has a fair bit of work to do. There was a drill where they were under pressure from another player in the back pocket, and they had to kick on the run to a stationry player 40 metres away, then they had to kick it along the boundry line to gain 40mtrs. I reckon the % rate of hitting a target was t about 40% and when they had to kick it down the kline it went out on the full about 60% of the time. If it was their intention to get it as close to the line as possible they were doing an awsome jb but other wise they were rubbish at it.

Carrazzo had a fair bit of kicking practise with Clokey and Waitey leading. Still has a lot of work to do with this but it is awsome to see that they are actually individualising on player problems this year as apposed to just working on it in drill situations.

Another change in drills that was evident was that they ACUTALLY HAD GOAL KICKING PRACTICE. 3 different set up which required them to kick a goal. One was set shots, one was crumbing with pressure from another player and the other was getting past Ratts.

I absolutely love the way Ratts is going about this. He is ACTIVELY INVOLVED in training drills, which is definately helping out the boys. On one situation he and Grigga were wrestling for the footy, eventually Grigga got the footy (although i think that Ratts gave up) but its good to see that he still has massive competitiveness and drive for victory.

A. O'hAilpin is probably one of the guys i cant wait to see hit the track. Its so frustrating see a 202cm beast just running 2hundreds. I want to see him involved in the drills.

Interesting to note that Steven Icke, Wayne Hughes and some1 else were showing what looked like a footy player around our headquarters and into the change rooms. It looked like we were trying to sign him up in a sence. I dont know if he was a AFL player but he certainly had the body shape to be. Oh and so did his missus.

MOVEMBER is certainly getting the run through with our mob. Houlihan, Stevens, Grigg, Harts and a few others are a donning the mo.

Training on Thursday at 9:00am

cheers

And Shields looks every bit the British thug :) Try knocking those tree trunks over! Crikey!

(houlihan is doing a good pr0n star job! Anything think that Bridie Carter's dance partner off Dancing with the stars looks incredibly like a blond Houlihan?? It's scary how similar they are).

Joey Anderson, Aisake, Gibbs and Grigg have bulked up and I cannot wait to watch these guys play. Although i wont actually be in the country, so i'll have to ask for help later about how to go about watching AFL overseas.
