Unfortunately it seems the best we'll get is this tidbit from AFC.com.au.

Star trio Ben Rutten, Jason Porplyzia and Nathan van Berlo could also run out on the MCG on Saturday after strong performances at training.

However, gutsy onballer Scott Thompson is in some doubt with hamstring soreness.
He was restricted to running laps during the main session.

Brad Symes, who has missed nearly two months with broken wrist/thumbs, also trained, but may be eased back through the SANFL.

Greg Gallman (collarbone) joined in some of training but will not start competitive work for two weeks.

I managed to catch the second half of training (after missing the extended 'warm up' on Max Basheer which lasted an hour...i dunno if it was to trial some stuff away from prying eyes awaiting training in AAMI or whether it was to accomodate the boffins inspecting the new signage).

Not a lot to report except i mainly witnessed full ground drills based on clearance work, running with quick handball from defence, finding the 'quarterback' or designated kicker, kicking to the open space on attacking half of the wing, followed by either a kick to lead in 50 or, very often, a kick back into the corridor on the attacking edge of square before again pushing forward. Nothing new there, simply honing the attacking aspect of the game style they have implemented during the pre-season.

Individually, Thompson never ran over 2/3rds pace while roaming the boundary line. A noticable soreness in his style, be a surprising selection based on that performance.

Walker, as usual, was clean and impressive. He'll only need 5 kicks a week and he'll get 2 goals and a couple assists.

Even more heartening was Porplyzia who seriously did not miss a beat. Amazing hands, he'll slot straight back in I'd hope.

Sellar is impressing more and more (in small increments!) each week this pre-season. His intensity on the track has lifted and his defensive work, run, and skills are all up to scratch. In a mismatch he was against Douglas at one stage and despite Douglas' size and agility, Sellar generally didn't let him slip by much. Simply needs to perform in defence for Glenelg and await his opportunity. This last month has swayed me into believing he will make it. If Moran could learn from Sellar's lift in intensity he too would make it but he has yet to follow suit.

Petrenko and Cook both standout when they get the ball. Noticable pace, not just in a straight line like some others, but they time their burst, hit the ball 100% and look like real line (and zone) breakers. Just gotta steady in the last couple strides to kick well. Actually no problem with Cook or Danger's kicking when they settle. Petrenko a little less skilled but certainly not disgraceful.

Gill again showed he is an athletic forward but cannot defend! At every training when he is placed in defence he struggles yet up forward certainly wouldn't be out of place if selected.

Rutten I'd say is a certainty to play. Looked as athletic as he can;)

van Berlo got thru the session but didn't seem to be 'running over the turf' easily to me...a little laboured. With Thompson out, we may want his leadership in the middle but I tend to think he should have another week on the track and a lower intensity game for South to blow away the cobwebs for his automatic return in R2.

One thing i noticed is the pace of the younger blokes compared to the older ones. Whilst having other great attributes it's fair to say Reilly (especially), Shirley, Thompson, Vince, Edwards and Porplyzia (though his brilliance makes up for it) are plodders. Douglas, Mackay, Goodwin and van Berlo are reasonable but not exceptional. Pace isn't everything but a balance is required. Danger, Cook and Petrenko begin to redress that balance beautifully.

With nightmares of the Elimination Final skills it's going to be a pleasure watching Goodwin, Reilly, Vince and Mackay delivering the ball from half-back/middle up forward. The personnel is matching the structure as long as we play brave and attacking, not racking up cheap stats in the back half cos we haven't got the guts to move forward against the zones. Today's drills show the intention is there, we just gotta take it to the G.

Selection wise, based on today I'd say Rutten, Porplyzia, Cook are close to definites. Petrenko probable. van Berlo 50/50 due to Thompsons likely omission.

IMO Petrenko is definite and Cook is probable depending on what happens with Thompson and VB and even Dangerfield

I was at training today but only by fluke, was there for work so I was on the oval when the boys were meant to start training, but as mentioned, they had an extended run on the reserve prior.

I was having a bit of a look at the waiting crowd trying to work out if any were a BF member...oh how I wish the bird in the pink shirt and short shorts was ;) :D

another thing, saw the Crows skin tight top they are using for the year, makes all the blokes look very cut. Rutten looked like a massive unit, even more than he usually does. I think even I would look cut wearing it.

Any sign of Kite at training? He's not playing for Norwood tomorrow night and had heard he had gone home for a while?

Yeah, the rumours are that he is at home for an unspecified reason, hasn't been confirmed by the club though.
There's footage of Kitey training today on Channel Crow.
