Hey guys, quick training update for today.
Training started 10am at Vic Park.
Players absent were: Coughlan, Hyde, Kingsley, Schulz and Simmonds.
Players only doing ball work: Oakley-Nichols and Peterson
Training started with the boys splitting up into 4 groups:
The Debutants worked with Wayne Johnson: King, Reiwoldt, Clingan, Connors and Edwards
The Forwards worked with Jade Rawlings: Richo, Pettifer, Browny, Jackson, White, Krakouer, Meyer, Hartigan
The Backs (couldn't see who they worked with): Gaspar, Raines, Polak, P Bowden, J Bowden, Moore, Hughes, Casserly, Thursfield, McGuane, Newman
The Mids and Ruck worked with Alessio and Royal: Patto, Hall, Graham, Knobel, Tambling, Deledio, Johnson, Tivendale, Polo, Tuck, Howat, Foley,
The first half of the session was pretty low intensity and more just a vigorous warm up.
The Debutants kicked the ball amongst each other for the first 30 minutes, doing several different kicking drills.
The Backs and Forwards worked together. Forwards would make a lead toward a backman running from half back, having to beat off an opponent and take a mark. Browny was the pick of the forwards today, not missing a single shot on goal for the day. Backman of the day was Moore whilst Raines and J Bowden were also impressive.
The Mids and Rucks worked together on the wing just trying to get the feel for throw in's and ball ups.
The whole group then came together, warmed up and had 2x20 minute halves of match simulation.
Overall a pretty light training run to begin with, but the intensity heated up once the simulation match started.
Player of training was Foley. Carved EVERYTHING up that came his way and his finishing was superb.
Disappointment of the day: Danny Meyer. Seemed like everytime he got the ball he miss-kicked it and just didn't dispose to well today.
Hope this has quenched some of your Tigers thirst
If there are any Qn's feel free to post and i'll try to answer.
