I'm ready to overreact over this after one session. I hate the idea of this. Hopefully it's just to even the numbers until Josh is ready.

Leave one of the best small defenders in the comp in the backline.

Yeah. He's a defender. His biggest asset is that he murders smalls in the air. Don't mind lots of stoppage work at training though, as he plays on some seriously dangerous stoppage players inside d50 And we got murdered there by Brisbane in the prelim. Make sure all the defenders who play on the dangerous guys get a fair bit of practice.

Thats every top team. And all the others have dropped to the bottom except the ones who got lucky with being able to match star players in the draft and Geelong.

I don't get the premiership or bust mentality. You're equating watching 17 home and away wins and 2 finals wins with WCE's 2025. What a great year we had in 2022, 2018, 2002, 2025 etc.

We got murdered with 4 goals from fwd 50, stoppage because of poor setups - with Pendles the master of set ups missing we cocked up badly.
So fix that and I think their smalls are a manageable threat, as we found when we belted them early in the year.

Except they become destination clubs especially for free agents. And usually they have depth meaning they have valuable trade bait.

Yeah, his interesting way of kicking sure says it. I think there's a bit of jumping the gun here comparing a fresh draftee to a 3x All Australian, premiership player.

Nick we know will become 1 of the greatest players ever for the Pies but I also see that Sam has a bit in common with Nick, we need as many good players as we can develop from our drafts.
I for one am very pleased to have a boy who will gut run and demand the ball back nothing wrong with that as I see it, it at least show,s a level of confidence in himself.

In the way he moves is what I'm referring to, his ability to evade and see whats ahead of him, and his ability to know where the ball is. You can easily see it in his highlights too.
Its meant to be a compliment.

I think the way he racks up the ball shows he has some very handy traits, I like players who have confidence in themselves and like you I think it may be justified.

In 3 years time I would like a midfield with Swadling and Prindi in it that would be fantastic, Swadling with extra size and Prindi at the coalface extracting.

I said it the moment we drafted him, he is the player I am most excited to see play next year .

How does he look exiting stoppages? He looks good in open space and runs with purpose.

Both going well, not yet standing out. Its sort of not the time of year to do so.. once we get into more match play post xmas will be better.
But Buller does seem to have a lot of athletic ability.

That is definite jump the shark territory comparing Swadling to Nick. And I am a fan

She's only comparing one part of his game.

Nick's the best because you can compare about 4 things to the best we've seen at that thing.

Was able to pop down for about 30 mins yesterday so have some minor observations:

Cochran has definitely put on some size and showed good signs in some of the drills. Howe was giving him lots of advice on how to position his body which was great to see.

Smit is looking massive. Had to double check I was looking at the right guernsey number. Can't wait to see how he goes in match play.

IQ was great playing mid a few games in late 24. Let’s try him as a mid and see if one of the young guys can fill his role. It could be a win/win. We can always switch him back.
