If he's signed a pre-contract not much that can be done? Interesting move though.
The club came out and confirmed he hasn't signed anything yet. Seems up in the air still.
We're in the market for one as Drogba will most likely retire. Would have preferred to give Bamford the third in line spot, but I guess he'll hopefully be loaned out to a Prem club.

Well you'll be paying overs for him considering we're already paying overs with our bid.

The Croatian national coach came out publicly and told him he should forget money and go to where he will play the most. I must say, I agree ;)

Thing is, Leicester's issue isn't a goal scoring striker, it's defenders and mids they need.

Leicester, burnley and qpr all have strikers in ulloa, ings and Austin who can fire them to safety, which is the opposite of the issues the sides had last season in Norwich, Fulham and Cardiff. Them three need defenders to stifle the opposition.

Apparently his dad/manager is saying he's out of contact at the end of the season while the clubs saying this isn't the case.

I agree it wouldn't make much sense for him to come to us

We definitely need a goal scorer. We went 6 games without scoring. Vardy is horribly out of form and Nugent and Wood are shit. Ulloa can only do so much by himself, he definitely isn't prolific either.

No argument we need a central defender and a holding mid as well. We need all three.

Yeah seems messy. His agent seems a real piece of work as well.

I can just tell he'll end up at Chelsea and then loaned out for 3 or 4 years and eventually sold. Really hope for some reason he would come to us. Would be a big step in our bid to stay up. Just don't see how we can beat Chelsea and Juve to him despite offering double what Juve did.

He scored 5 in 5 and you were singing his praises. Delivery and supply has dried up, that's all. Throwing more strikers at the problem isn't always the solution if you can't get the ball up there, or lose matches 3-2 every week.

That's not the problem. Ulloa has never been a prolific striker in his career. His goal tally has surprised absolutely everyone, it still can't be trusted to fire us to safety.

He's played better than I could have hoped.

As I said above though, Ulloa isn't the problem. It's that we have no one else chipping in to help him. Hence the need for another striker.

Damn auto - correct! ! He's off to PSV, not PSG!

Ah yeah, PSV is the link I saw too :p

Reckon he should stay put unless he gets some guarantees he will be the number 1 GK in the squad - they already have Zoet who is quite young (early 20s I think) and quite highly rated (has been called up to the Dutch squad in the past I think).

After Dnipro's owner refused to sanction a move for him in the last 2 windows, Konoplyanka is now available as a Bosman. While I think it's probably unlikely that Liverpool go back in for him after picking up Markovic in the summer, he could be an interesting signing for a number of clubs - very skillful, very fast, no doubt he could have an impact in one of the top leagues based on what he's shown for his country over the last few years.

He was very good at Brighton. I remember playing them in the Cup and he scored their opener from memory and looked dangerous in both the original and replay. I think you're being incredibly harsh on him and Wood, another who I think will work his way into the PL. He scored on the opening day to earn you a draw with Everton.

Vardy another who you were raving about earlier in the season and are now more than willing to cast aside. Those three strikers are more than enough to fire you to safety if you give them the proper delivery and stop leaking so many goals.

Seems a bit old(24) to be one of our buy/loan/sell projects, we're being linked to a few strikers so I'd expect him to slot into the third in line spot if he's the one we really want

Ulloa is a 1 in 2 striker, as I said though, he's not the issue. He needs a partner.

Vardy had one good game against United. His level is the Championship. His main asset is pace and he's been found out at this level. It's not a negative thing, it's just simply what it is.

Nugent was a handy championship player but again, is not quality for the PL.

Wood is rubbish. Won't ever be a consistent PL player.

Those other 3 have wasted plenty of oppurtunities already this season. None more evident than when we were at the Bridge and Nugent was one on one with the keeper at 0-0.

We miss a Danny Ings or a Charlie Austin. A proper poacher.

Who else are you looking at?

Who else are you looking at?

Icardi and Destro seem to be linked the most, but I doubt we'll be doing anything in terms of a striker until the summer and Didiers plans are sorted out.

And who knows, if Bamford keeps banging them in as he is he could be in with a shout to stay with the team next season.

Wood wasn't even playing regularly last year. Vardy is better than Wood and might make a good impact player but he has 1 goal in 13 starts. It's not the service either.

Either way, the club are definitely targeting a striker in January.

If we're gonna buy a keeper who is good with his feet then we are better off looking at Spain or Italy for one. The ones in England like Begovic who's been hoofing it for years at Stoke isn't gonna change anything
Yeah but Begovic is more likely to score a goal than Lambert + Balotelli combined :p

#Begovicupfront

Or at least when he hoofs it he can actually kick it far enough to the other goal, Mignolet can't even kick it 50 :S
That's more what I meant. He's scored 2 goals in the last 2 seasons hasn't he?

Yeah hence what I said :p

I dunno, any good young keepers in the La Liga? I might as well scout for the club since the ones they have aren't very good
Almost didn't recognise who I was talking to with the new avatar :drunk:
