It's hard to dislike Tottenham really, but it's refreshing to see a semi big club go down the route of developing young talent.

Over the last 3/4 years they have signed 200 midfielders, yet still need to sign more due to lack of depth. That's just weird, man

Can someone explain to me how Milan can move Torres to Atletico? Isn't he on loan at Milan? How can they move on a player that isn't theirs?

i presume it'll go

milan terminates the chelsea loan
chelsea sent him to atletico for 18 months on similar terms to the milan deal
atletico send cerci to milan on loan.

How ridiculous. What's in that for Chelsea?

about the same as when he got sent to milan. they dont play an absolute hack and dont have to pay all of his ridiculous wages.

They've already got that sorted though. They don't need to do anything further.

Building goodwill with Milan and Atletico?

well if milan don't want him it's a bit rough to force him to spend 18 months there when there's another team willing to take him on.

That's not Chelsea's problem though. Milan signed for 2 years, they could make them complete the two year contract.

Just seems weird.

I'm sure there'd be a clause in there for Milan to terminate? They aren't morons.

It's Milan. They're notorious for weaseling their way out of contracts. We had a nightmare dealing with them over Aquilani.

Milan terminates Chelsea loan
Athletico suddenly don't want Torres
Chelsea stuck with Torres again.

Would lol.

In all seriousness how would it work with Torres joining Atletico? AC loan terminated and permanent transfer to Atletico? Or would Atletico take on AC's loan obligation? Sounds like an absolute nightmare. Does Torres get his 175k a week he was guaranteed until 2016?

Torres's contract is owned by Chelsea so no matter what the arrangement is with other clubs Chelsea will cover the shortfall. Chelsea just want someone, anyone, to take over either full payment or part payment of his wages so they dont have to foot the entire bill.

Chelsea could be in the position were their best option would be to pay out Torres's contract and release him. Though i dont know how that would be calculated under FFP.

i assume it would be calculated like transfer fees, the price to pay him out divided by the years left on his contract

l'equipe say that spurs are in 'advanced talks' to sign adrien rabiot. i believe he has only 6 months left on his contract

He signed a new contract earlier in the year.
