Apparently his agent has said he didnt sign with NYCFC as they werent a legal entity at the time. So he signed with CFG with the intention of being a NY player. Also said that he will join NY in July.

Any truth to the rumour he's being offered a contract at City for next season?

He is a NYCFC player on a season long loan.

NYCFC hasn't even played a competitive game yet, so Lampard hasn't missed anything yet. Obviously he will but it will only be minimal considering.
Except that he didn't sign a contract with them and isn't on loan to City. He is a City player.

Fair enough but why not be transparent about that? They had a press conference where he signed a contract for NYCFC but obviously that wasn't what happened.

There was no need to be so secretive about it all. All they've done is alienated their supporters which as a new club is really stupid.

Is CFG not a separate entity to Man City?

Is CFG not a separate entity to Man City?
They are but they aren't a club. So not sure how he can "sign" for them and play at City unless he has a contract at City.

I was under the impression CFG is Manchester City, Melbourne City, New York City and Yokohama F Marinos. Its a holding company overseeing all those clubs and itself under the parent company Abu Dhabi United Group owned obviously by the Sheik

So he isn't really a city player then? He just has a loan deal there from an organization that isn't a football club.

You big clubs are certainly getting creative, I'll give you that!

Really think we should have gone harder for Shaqiri. He wasn't necessarily a need per se, but going by his tweets, interviews etc he would have been keen on a move to Merseyside had a firm offer been made, and he's a player that would have fit our style perfectly. At that price it was a no brainer and a real missed opportunity for us. Ditto Valdes.

Speaking of, with a backup of that calibre you'd expect there will now be further doubts cast over De Gea's future at United. Expect the vultures from the Bernabeu to begin circling over the next few months.

Maybe if Valdes had a long term deal but he doesn't. I will start worrying if he still is unsigned at the end of the season. If he leaves, it'll be for ridiculous $$$$ (for a gk) so we might have a gentleman's agreement similar to Pool with Suarez.

Anyone know much about work permits? moomba

Pearson said they expect him to fail his first application but that we will win the appeal. Not sure why that makes sense but anyway.

Yeah apparently that's always the case. Took hernandez two weeks to sign for us because of the song and dance you have to go through with work permits. I'll try and find the article from the time.

Just like Football Manager! Signed many a 20 year old South American youngster on appeal

Haha yeah I've done that as well. No idea what actually happened behind the scenes ;)

Can't find it, but Bruce came out just after we reportedly agreed the deal and said something along the lines of "He'll fail the work permit application and we'll appeal and it'll be fine as always." I can't remember the exact reasoning for why it always fails and why it always succeeds on appeal, but for some strange reason that's just the way it goes.

Seems like they may as well just pass it the first time but anyway. He's not around for Villa but will be for the next week.

Someone might know more about the legality of it all, maybe moomba? It's something about what qualifies for a work visa in the UK - I think you have to have played a certain number of games for your country or be classified an exceptional young talent, I'm a bit foggy on it. But Hernandez hadn't played enough games for his country and I suspect Kramaric is the same.

Hummels agent (and father) has come out and said he isn't interested in leaving BD and won't be joining United - So I guess he will...:p
Both Chelsea and United encouraged to try and sign Varane, from the players camp.
United in for Schar and Vlaar but Vlaar's injury means it won't happen, Schar into his last six months, can't believe he hasn't already been signed by a side.

United also interested in Laporte (Would love this kid).

Strootman wants to give back something to Roma before leaving, which means he'll be a summer signing. LvG apparently really wants him now though.
