I'm never really one to trumpet Liverpool's own horn, in particular the execs. But this is/was a pretty creative and innovative solution to the problem we faced. So I'll give Edwards and co. kudos for that.

Whether our manager being so stubborn/set on players that he'd rather wait one year for Keita than look at any other options is a good thing is a different debate. Can't help but feel we'll need the bodies in midfield this year. I guess that's why we're chasing Lemar though.

The flip side to that is Liverpool have been sucked into buying who is available in the past instead of who is best and that has blown up monumentally.

Apparently we've had a 65m initial + 16m add ons accepted for VVD by saints.
That's nuts. Sort of know what it feels like supporting a citeh GRP member team now.

Origi is wanted by Marseille, Spurs, Newcastle, Palace, Inter Milan, Juventus, Sampdoria, Wolfsburg, Bremen & Leverkusen. (@Matt_Law_DT)

Telegraph saying its £40m + add ons. When it comes to Chelsea I'd be believing them.

Then AM will loan him out for 6 months, Everton leading the charge.

Will be interesting to see what happens. AM don't really have motivation to complete the deal this window with him being unable to play until January.

presumably liverpool have bought keita, but his contract with them doesnt start until next year, instead of buying him now and loaning him back which isn't in liverpool's best interests.
Just a question, did City loan out Gabriel Jesus after they signed him?

Surely the deal is a contractual agreement that no one else can sign him and that he becomes a Liverpool player as soon as the season finishes? It's basically pointless for Liverpool unless that is the case.
Yep. I'm sure that would be the case. I mean it's been reported we have signed him. He just wont join for 12 months so it has to be official.

What would it take for LFC to sell Origi?

Would be a good backup for us but I really doubt they would sell to us for anything other than a stupid bid which would be anything above 25m

Doubt we would sell to you guys. Dont want to strengthen a rival. And he would be a huge upgrade on Gashssen.

I hear a loan more than a sale too. Probably to somewhere mainland Europe.

20-25 mil with a buyback clause would be just fine for me, goes into the fund for getting Lemar, we'd get pretty close to the 90 mil they want

He is behind Solanke in the pecking order nowadays so that amount of money is a no brainer

90m for Lemar?

Knock me down with a feather. Wake me up when September starts.
