City & Chelsea were both into him as a starting CB. You would have to say yes. Interesting to see how he goes.

Klopp has got all of his major transfers right so far. Long may it continue.

Was never going to be less than 50m in today's market. We heard that Salah was overpriced too - hopefully this transfer goes the same way. Klopp has got every major transfer spot on so far.

If Liverpool were going to spend that kind of money why on earth weren't they in for Davinson Sanchez?

Still, VVD would seem to be what they need so whatever it takes I guess...

Quite simply because for better or worse, Klopp didn't want Sanchez, he wanted Van Dijk.

Klopp and his team have identified their top targets over the last few years and have been reluctant to settle for 2nd/3rd/4th choice, even if that has meant waiting or paying a premium - see Keita, Van Dijk, Salah.

if pep loved him he'd be at the club. clearly there was a monetary limit on how much he wanted him, and now we'll look at other targets. inigo martinez for example is cheaper and much better with the ball at his feet.
