My sources say it's bullshit.

Last transfer window before a World Cup, look out for lots of fringe players to be agitating for moves to get game time.

Several Socceroos players probably fall under this category including Jamie Maclaren and Brad Smith

i dont think he ends up with us at all anymore.
I think after his performances this season I tend to agree. 29 years old and starting to look burnt out, he wont be getting the contract length and salary he might have demanded had we sold him in the summer.

If it comes down to a bidding war for his services i can see PSG offering him more money and a longer deal than you will.

at the start of the season it made a lot more sense. sane was struggling to adapt, sterling wasnt consistent and struggled in front of goal. bernardo silva wasn't bought, and kun was all but sold. plus the links first started when nolito was still getting games and navas was playing week in week out.

it's not to say he isnt a great player, he is. but like you say, he's 29 now and is looking at a last big paycheck. i just dont see the need for him to come, and i think some of pep's recent comments have hinted at it.

I still see Sanchez ending up at City, more likely in the summer. Sure he may not get the pay check he perhaps could have got last summer, but he clearly wants to be in a winning environment and that’s what he’ll get.

One thing that might be in his favour to get a move next month, is City are still in all competitions. On face value, you’d say why do they need him? But throw in some congested fixtures, playing 3 times a week with Cup games mixed with CL games and league games etc. And someone like Sanchez who can easily interchange with any of the front 3 would be pretty damn handy to have.

Anyway, from an Arsenal point of view, he does need to be moved on. Is bordering on a liability at the moment, clearly wants out and is not enjoying himself. Still capable of the brilliant, match winning moments but between that, there’s not that much he’s really contributing. Aside from being dispossessed easily.

No one in the league can go toe to toe with City unfortunately, if its not already enough they have the biggest cheque book they have the pull of Pep too.
Lots of clubs can go toe to toe with us, and have done. Some choose not to.

I think with Pep, and our facilities we start at an advantage. Not sure how much history comes into it, suspect not much. London factor would be significant. Opportunity to play would be significant.

But I think a lot don't want to push the boat out and use the "we can't compete with City" as a convenient excuse.

Why would a defender be desperate to play for Klopp?

I don't think it is Klopp as much as Liverpool. We have known since the summer that his preferred move is to Liverpool. He will be 1st choice along side Matip which is not something he can be sure of if he goes to City. Having already sat out the majority of the season so far, I doubt he wants to move to sit on the bench and be 3rd choice at City.

Moves to City and could be in a CL winning squad.
Let's be honest that's what Pep is gearing this squad for.

Yeh but is winning the league and possibly UCL with citeh GRP that much an achievement?

If vvd wins anything with lfc, its a massive achievement
