Pretty much the only time in a decade we've been below them we had AVB/Sherwood and they had Suarez/Sturridge.
A meagre 3 points behind despite no Toby or Wanyama for ages. We'll be fine.

Fact check - in the last decade:

Liverpool
4x top 4 finishes (4x 75+ point seasons), 2x runner up
CL - 1x semi final & 1x quarter final
4x cup finals (Europa x1, FA Cup x1, League Cup x2), incl a League Cup win

Tottenham
5x top 4 finishes (1x 75+ point season), 1x runner up
CL - 1x quarter final
3x cup finals (all League Cup), incl a League Cup win

But I digress. What does what either of our sides did 10 years ago have to do with where we're likely to finish in 2017/18? And I'm interested to hear what you've seen from Spurs to date this season that the rest of us haven't to justify this level of cockiness?

Not cockiness. Just don’t rate Liverpool... still.
We’re not winning the league but I don’t believe we will finish below you.

Emre Can to Juve sounding like a foregone conclusion. Would’ve more than happy to get him in on a free transfer, Serie A will suit him well and would be another smart business move by Marotta

My understanding is that's exactly what you've done. He won't be joining Juve until the summer when his contract runs out.

sneijder being told to bugger off from nice 6 months after joining and looks off to al-gharafa in qatar.

maybe he never will get that utd move.
I've always wondered what Sneijders prerogatives have been in his career

Seems he never wanted it enough/took the easy option far too often, a player like him should've tested himself out in a good league for a big club after he left Inter, not make an easy buck in Turkey. Reminds me a lot of Mathieu Valbeuna pissing off to Russia when he left Marseille. Both players having largely unfulfilled potential.

Absolutely fuming at Ross Barkley, to turn down a transfer to Chelsea keep your "options open" and then spend months using out facilities and taking your pay checks from us to then go and move to Chelsea with in days of the window opening.

We'd accepted a £35m fee on deadline day in August and now we've basically got no choice but to accept their £15m offer is unbelievable.

What's the odds of not getting a higher sign on fee for the wait to?

So much for a "boyhood blue".

Literally Barkley being halfway through his medical and just changing his mind to stay until the next window cost you 20mil.

Yeeeeep, for what ****ing reason? Was pretty clear he wasn't ever going to stay. You don't knock back years of contract negotiations to then look at changing your mind, he wasn't ever going to re-sign.

Happy to check the last thread but pretty certain they found out the medical never occurred.

Was he at premises and just decided not to or did he not even show up?

Barkly did tweet that he never had a medical. Although there was a phone interview on SkySports deadline day coverage with our owner Farhad Moshiri who said the medical did commence.

However many Everton fans (myself included) genuinely thought that interview was faked as it sounded like someone mocking his accent. But it was just so odd because he and Jim White are actually close and Jim White will get some club news from him before it's even posted on any offical platform from the club.

Regardless it's basically confirmed that the fee was agreed he just knocked the approach back.

"Contrary to a number of reports in the press, I did not undertake a medical with any club at any point," he wrote on Twitter. "I simply decided that due to my injury, it would be best to make a decision on my future and assess all my options in January when fully fit.

"Thanks for all of the support."

Question is, who had a better motive to lie.
One of them has to have been.

Don't be one of those people.
Shut up DH!!! The whole wait 6 months cliché is a myth

January window through to the start of the July transfer window is the more accurate 6 month cliché statement than going from August 31st deadline day to early January transfer window.
