Interesting window for you guys coming up imo. i mean, you're in the CL final and you've got a points tally that would have won the league in just about every other season. Where exactly do you strengthen? Is it more about improving the quality depth and keeping the side settled, or do you go for another class player or two, I guess, in midfield and the center of defence?

Yeah I think we are close to the finished article. But there are a few additions we will need to make.

Back up LB to support Robbo is a need.
Back up GK's is gonna change as I think we will sell Migs and Karius.
Maybe a creative midfielder. Ox is back though but still lack in that area, like a real No.10.
Help up front too. Sturridge will leave, looking likely we give Origi another contract. But still need a real No.9 and help in wide areas too to give Salah and Mane a spell.

But I dont think we will be seeing 75 million dollar purchases or anything. Smaller, tactical additions I think. Then go again next year if tomorrow doesnt work out in our favour.

So yeah, as i said earlier mostly improving the depth, but keeping a settled squad. After Van Der Saar’s comments recently, i wouldn’t be at all surprised if you were one of the clubs to go really hard at De Ligt to partner Van Dijk.

I think we definitely see Gomez as the partner for VVD. Terrific young CB without the hype that De Ligt seems to have.

Herrera isn't that good but he's far better than the blokes you're actually keeping around that's for sure.

If we gave him what he wanted then I'm pretty confident his name would have been added to that list in a year or two. I'm a big fan of the way he went about it but I actually think this is the right decision from the club. He always gave his all but his ceiling just isn't that high. Locking him down on a long contract would have been a mistake.
