Bring in promising young players and give them plenty of game time in a weak league (sorry wadistance) and then hype them up as the next Messi, Ronaldo or Zidane. Proceed to sell them to clubs like manu who believe the hype and watch the money rolling in. No thanks. For the money Dortmund are asking I hope we never entertain bringing in any Dortmund players.

Not sure Dortmund is doing the Messi/ Ronaldo comparisons. I think most scouts could see how much promise Bellingham has shown at 17-18. By your logic you would ignore guys like Son, Firmino, Gundogan, De Bruyne. Sancho under Pep would’ve been different story.

Bellingham and Sancho are being scouted on potential. But both have played very well in UCL which I think is a great leveller compared to leagues. They also get English homegrown bonus cash on top of that.

We unfortunately have this model as it’s the only way we can compete financially with Bayern. Our wage bill is still half of theirs. It’s great seeing superstars born. But there need to be some decisions soon within the club of whether we want to be an Ajax or a Liverpool.
