Hence the "I can certainly see both sides of it".

Is it much of an existence if you're just being used and abused by a more successful club?

I will add that you can have autonomy with multi club models and not being absolutely subordinate to a bigger club.

You will see very few complaints from Hearts / USG fans about Tony Bloom multi club ownership.

You also will see the odd transaction between theseclubs but not to the levels we are seeing between Chelsea & Strasbourg which has gone far, far beyond the norm.

I expect that UEFA will eventually regulate this stuff.

It's an existence.

Is being used and abused by an owner with no other clubs any better?

If a mco at least means you see good football each year with rotating players isn't that still good football?

For the record, generally speaking, I don't think mcos should be allowed for a competition integrity position, but specifically for French football where their TV deal has collapsed I find it wild any supporter base would turn their back. I see another club got bought by Bournemouths owner.

No, being used and abused by an owner with no other clubs isn't any better. But I would fight/argue against that as well.

It's really each to their own I guess. I don't love the idea of watching 'good football' if that's the cost of it.

Again though you're twisting my words. An existence is better than your club going out of business. Financial security is better than whatever Wednesday are going through.

French football is in a really precarious place.

No. I don't agree with that.

Football is plenty shady as it is but if my choice is my club being ran by a war criminal (for instance), or ceasing to exist, I know which one I'd prefer every time.

It'll be interesting to see how many genuinely boycott the World Cup with Trump doing his thing.

Ultimately the line is up to each individual with what they're willing to accept.

Who said anything about a war criminal??

Blackpool were owned by a rapist, do you reckon they wanted their club to go out of business or to campaign him out?

What a wild straw man.

In the three years before BlueCo, Strasbourg's total transfer fees paid per season were £6.1m, £3.9m and £9.5m.

In the following three seasons Strasbourg spent £52.6m, £53.6m and £96.5m. They were the biggest-spending club in France last summer, outgunning even Paris St-Germain (£89.2m).

That's where Strasbourg has been helped, let alone the Chelsea deals.

The balance sheet changes would be more telling. Quite likely intercompany loans and other associated entries to compensate for the inflated fees.

How much of the transfer fees are real and how much are just the clubs doing circle work to get around the sustainability rules. That would be the critical thing.
I guess what is a real transfer fee nowadays and how do you work it out

Blueco have spent a lot redeveloping the stadium, academy and surrounding area. They want Strasbourg to be able to battle PSG in the near future.
In a city that's a lot smaller. It's basically like trying to make Newcastle great in this day and age, not enough people to generate rebet
