Indiana has never slept though, ever. Even in the womb we noticed she was much more active in the night. Her first night this side of the womb she woke constantly in the night and the midwives said at that age it isn't much to worry about. A couple days later and I have three of them and two doctors helping me get her to to sleep in the lounge area of the nursery so mum could sleep surprised it was taking so long.

Never liked swaddling or dummies.

From the get go she's been determined to be difficult!

(Last line was light hearted in case it wasn't clear... great baby, just need to get this sleep thing moving in the right direction)

I think everyone reacts like they do edgie because anyone that has been sleep deprived knows how valuable sleep is and how not getting good sleep is unsustainable for your mental and physical health.

We care.

The worst part to having youngin's is that nearly every piece of advice is purely anecdotal, how to get a baby to sleep can range anywhere from a simple gentle rocking to a full pagan goat sacrifice at the rising of a blood moon.

edgie... you are probably sick of advice but have you tried a vibrating rocker? nephew had one and was out like a light every time my sister put him in it.

I didn't think it was possible to regress from zero but this child has now slept for three hours in the last 24. Will not sleep in anything that isn't a car or pram. Getting worried she'll always have sleep problems.

That sucks, it can be really difficult to deal with that level of sleep deprivation.

There's an absolute stack of often conflicting advice about sleep out there, personally I find the possums sleep program is worthwhile looking at, and takes a more evidence based approach than other methods. Does cost (about $40), but we found the program worthwhile, and helpful if you don't have access to any other help. If you haven't already, seeing a GP with an interest in child health is a good place to start.

Vibrating rocker sounds interesting... but we gotta get her in to more regular sleeping arrangements that she can take beyond being a baby.

Like, a bed.

I guess the problem is that I google it and get results like 'my child won't sleep!', click it and turns out some woman is having a nightmare because her baby won't nap in the daytime (but is fine at night) and I am thinking are you for real? Getting a solid eight hours a day and you still feel a need to start a thread on the internet?

I hate to suggest my issues are worse than someone else's like it is a competition, but...

Have you tried letting her cry it out? Working it out for herself?

Have you tried boring her to sleep with Rogue One?

Have you tried boring her to sleep with Rogue One?

No way.

She loves Admiral Raddus.

Who wouldn't?

Besides I'd just end up waking myself up then having to rewatch it in 3D then yearning for the good old days of IMDB forums.

Never intentionally but she can cry for hours. We can settle it now but in the early months there was almost nothing we could do and she could cry from 12 - 5.

I fear if I go back down that path she will win, and it's scary because she really screams, her arms and legs stiffen up like a seizure, etc.
