I've never actually listened to her until now.

Definitely a shill for the economic propaganda she claims to be against. She looks and sounds like a ****ing nut job...which is exactly why they gave her a voice. If she was 10 years older people would dismiss her as being your typical left-wing activist who has no empathy for the other side of the equation, which is how you really reach consensus on action instead of empty rhetoric.

But the clear sign of her being a puppet is the end part - that she refuses to believe that they are evil. How very naive. The definition of evil is consciously knowing something you are about to do is going to hurt someone, and doing it anyway. That describes every government and industry around the globe for the past 100 years.

Oh really? I didn't know that, probably because I don't give two ****s about her or her 1.5 trillion dollar climate change industry backed crusade. I judge the words, not the person, on merit. Yet another reason to use her...the sympathy she'll generate and the fact that anyone criticising her will be dismissed as heartless because of her disability - which shouldn't be a factor in any argument really.

When someone is ripping into other people to create a soundbite for news services and then finishes with 'I refuse to believe that you are evil' when it's been proven that they are with the exploitation of the very environment that she supposedly cares about, then I'll call her, and whoever else tries to defend her, a nutjob, because it displays cognitive dissonance. And cognitive dissonance is crazy.

She is leading a movement that is causing kids to take to the streets, which is the only way to make meaningful change in this world.

I’m not saying she is perfect, and absolutely there are enormous criticisms to be made of XR for being undemocratic, soft and in favour of liberal green capital solutions.

That doesn’t make what she is doing any less important or remarkable. We just have to make sure that we don’t allow capital to decide how to save the world. Because it won’t.

Good on her for doing something that is obviously important to her. All I'm saying is berating people for not taking action and then saying 'but I don't think you're evil' isn't the best way to get people on side to make a change. You'll always get push back because people hate being dictated to.

If you want to see how real change is made, look at what is acceptable now in terms of content on television compared to 30 years ago. I remember when there was a big song and dance about Sex and the City using the world campaigner on air. And it was a big deal because it was a word you'd never, ever say. Now people just throw it out there in Australia like it's no big deal.

You keep moving the bar higher and higher as people clear it, and suddenly they look back and say 'How did we get from there to here?'

This is why it's obviously exploitation. She's an evangelist for climate change but it's not actually from the heart, because that would show passion and spontaneity. But the worst bit is the other kids that are up there who are just sitting there with nothing to say...she's basically asking them for help to say something and they've got nothing.
