what about those that accept climate change, believe gmo foods are safe, believe nuclear power can be safe(ish), but don't see the point in going down that path when renewable options are available now that make it unnecessary?
Most people.

All spirits are good I think people are skewed off certain drops by the bog average cheap shit pubs use it's like when you discover stuff like Johnnie Walker is just blended rubbish when you are 15.

I had a Scottish boss back in the early 80's who used to describe Aussie bottled Johnny Red as fire water that a true Scot wouldn't use to fuel his lawn mower.
Apparently the stuff bottled in Scotland is better due to the quality of the water, but back then it was only available here as ship's stores and virtually impossible to get.

Give me a single malt like Cardhu any day over that blended stuff. :thumbsu:

We used to have a bottle of Vat 69 that lived on top of the fridge. One day it fell off and smashed on the kitchen floor and made the lino curl up.

I've still got a half gallon (80 fl oz) bottle of Johnny Walker Red - just the bottle, don't remember drinking it - that I keep 5 and 10 cent pieces in. Last time it filled up I got about $270 out of it.

I’ve got a 3ltr d’Arenberg Dead Arm (that I do remember drinking, with considerable help mind you) that I put gold coins and $5 notes in. About 1/3rd the way up and I think there’s almost $1000 in it. Wife keeps stealing from it for “coffee money”. I don’t think I’ll ever fill it.

Love reading beer opinions in this thread, some real yells at cloud stuff.

FYI craft beer would be much cheaper if Australia fixed its crooked excise tax system. Tax beer the same as wine and watch your options, quality and affordability grow.

I'm reasonably partial to Johnny Red. Having a large Southern European family I grew up on the stuff. My dear old Grandfather would always give me a wink and hold his thumb and forefinger an inch apart signally whisky? I didn't matter if I was visiting him in the AM.

I once bought my partner’s Papou a bottle of JW Red for Christmas. He obviously hadn’t bought me anything and felt bad so he quickly ducked off to the back shed and came back with another (dustier) bottle and gave it to me. Bless.

I love how deeply troubled this couple appear to be.

'I thought retiring in Paradise meant retiring in paradise... but now... now someone might park their car on a street near our home. I can't handle the stress and the sleepless nights anymore, Brian! I have had enough!' *Bursts into tears*

'I know, Margaret, I know. It is a bloody outrage, it is!'

Renewables at this time can’t provide base power, when there’s not enough sun/wind/rain (for hydro). Maybe at some point, but nuclear is the realistic base power for the next 50 odd years until then. Solar is nuclear anyway.

Look at the farcical situation in Germany.

Closing perfectly good existing carbon-free nuclear plants and making up the shortfall with coal and gas.

And the Australian coal lobby uses that situation to advertise their shit, “if technologically-advanced countries like Germany and Japan are turning to coal, it makes you wonder why don’t we?!”

Gross.

And to boot it's gas from Russia. Because Germany who likes to boast how anti-fascist they are now, finds no irony in sourcing gas from a country effectively a Fascist state over Uranium from democracies like Australia.

I assume living next to Paradise Interchange means being able to get some gear in short order. So there's always that.

For those familiar with the NBA, Jusuf Nurkic just one-upped Gordon Hayward.

Horrific.

How's the absolute ****ing moron of a ref who accidentally trips over his freshly broken leg just afterwards. How dumb can you be? Say what you like about Matthew Nicholls, I'd rather see a thousand dodgy umpiring calls than see somebody do that again.
