It is probably better than the Queen movie, but I doubt it will get any Oscar noms, despite making Vince Neil out to be not shit is a stunning feat of acting and film making.

Someone at work recommended I watch Love Death & Robots on Netflix

This is a show you can't watch on the train

It's almost as embarrassing that time years back when I was reading Nabokov's Lolita and looked up to see a trainload of Mitcham High students sitting around me on the bus

Never finished it in the end
You should. Lolita is an awesome novel (if you don't mind continually countering weird looks on the train with "a real pedo wouldn't be reading this" responses).

All whisky has water in it. Unless it is bottled at cask strength.
I know that but if they are bottling the blend that already contains water why add more. Maybe I'm incorrectly assuming that all they were doing was bottling locally.

I found an excerpt (the first half I believe) in a "Collected Works" of Nabokov which was amazing. As were the other short stories in it. Great writer.

Reading Mein Kampf on the train and audibly saying things like "ooh, I don't know about that" every second page

The Doors movie worked because they were only around for 5 years. Trying to summarise decades into an hour and 45 is always going to be awkward and disjointed.

Oliver Stone's Jim Morrison Monster? terrible and inaccurate

I had that, Kershaw’s Hitler biography (Vols 1 & 2) and Burleigh’s ‘The Third Reich’ in a Unibooks bag sitting at my feet in the old Flinders Uni tav back in the day.

As the drinking session progressed, a bloke (of sub-continental descent) asked what I’d bought as the usual discussion of degrees and whathaveyou progressed.

I preempted the reveal by mentioning it was for related history units I was doing, but you could tell he thought I was an effeminate version of Hando from Romper Stomper.

Musician biopics are always insipid and the only one I'd actually watch is Walk the Line because it would remind me of Dewey Cox and be a great laugh

Walk Hard is basically the template for music biopics these days, lol.

The Beatles scene kills me, especially Paul Rudd as John Lennon.

“Paul’s a big fat campaigner.”
