On reflection KMH was never going to win Eurovision because the song itself was just middling. Her vocal performance was magnificent and the staging otherworldly. But it wouldn’t rank in her top 15-20 tracks.

That, and you can never guess what Eurotrash voters are going to do anyway.

Eurovision is a much of a political contest as it is a song contest which is what makes it interesting (and why Australia will never win, e.g. Dami being the clear favourite a couple of years ago, including winning the jury vote, then a Ukrainian dirge about WWII genocide wins due to Russia’s present day military intervention in the Crimea ).
