Going to Vietnam in October
Any recommendations from my favourite port board
Do the Ha Giang Loop. It's a 3 or 4 day bike tour through the mountains in the North. It's awesome, but hard on your knees.

We went through BiBi's and all the drivers are locals, they take you off the beaten track (there are larger tourers who do more standard routes). Views are spectacular, and you see a side of Vietnam that many don't.

Other than that, go to the busy street food places, ask for 1 of whatever it is they make and enjoy the surprise. We didn't have a bad meal.

If you're travelling through Hanoi definitely do the Halong bay tour

I read a story about that this week, a group of old Vietnam vets were doing the tour and their guide disappeared momentarily and popped up like that guy. Nearly gave a few of them their final heart attack.

Anyone noticed how if you run Spotify free on the android TV app it basically responds like premium? no ads & full freedom with album & track selection, I've been running it from the tv through an aux channel on me grudge stereo all afternoon.

Another BeerCans cost of living life hack for you all.

Keeps me up at night this
Have to take the gloves off and make a trip down the back to de-stress.

Just odd hearing my parents talk about Peter G'day Russel G'day Clarke and that before him there was just never cooking or cooks on the telly. Nowadays it's as ubiquitous as gambling propaganda in sports and more prevalent than soap operas.

I been watching the clips from Ozzy & Sabbath's farewell man the aging process is rough on musicians, Ozzy did better than I expected I imagine there was some 'technical' help but Bill Ward's drumming sounded like Lars on sleeping pills. Axl Rose is just god awful, Hetfield looks more like Paul Snr from Orange Country Choppers every day & his high register is starting to sound pre-pubescent.

I think it's the best farewell concert for a couple of reasons.

One, there's no doubt this was the farewell final concert, they ain't coming back again.

Two, not many 50 year old bands can boast a final show with the original lineup.

The sense of finality is proper, and they pulled it off.

Tony & Geezer are still on the ball playing wise they could do other projects if they have the desire.

They always leave the door ajar though Geezer saying something about unused demo songs that were better than 13 and not being completely happy with that album etc. that might be only thing Ozzy could possibly do is some low pressure studio work.

Geezer is still playing at 100%, Iommi has slowed down slightly. Bill was probably not gonna get a gig anywhere else. Ozzy was vocally as good as any point in the last 20 years but physically he is spent.

Compared to AC/DC when they played together fifty years ago:

Bon: Dead
Malcolm: Dead
Mark: Sacked
Phil: Sacked, rehired, sacked again?
Angus: Still going.

And they still had more stage presence than the recent Oasis reunion, masters of standing on the spot and only moving around if it's to try belt each other.

Weird to imagine a time when chefs weren't on TV or celebrities

That time has never really existed. Chefs have been celebrities for hundreds of years.

Very true, used to be a pommy guy on tv in the black and white days.
Graham Kerr, he’s still alive in his 90’s.

Was he the guy that was always drinking on his show?

All those bands covering Sabbath songs just proved how difficult it is to sing in Ozzy's register. While not technical, he's probably a much better singer than people give credit for.
Tool did a great job covering Hand of Doom and Maynard can hit those notes. Probably performance of the day.
I reckon it's hard when someone has such a distinctive voice too.

Ozzy's bottom end is underrated as well IMO his voice on the debut Sabbath album is rich crooner warm.
