Metallica are the biggest metal band ever and no other really comes close. Not even Sabbath or Ozzy. No metal band has broken in to mainstream like Enter Sandman.

It's mad to me that Metallica were in the Oval and Iron Maiden were only in the Entertainment Centre.

I thought Iron Maiden were much bigger!


Shows what I know about heavy metal.

the death magnetic tour was at the entertainment centre, they did do 2 shows though

i think my one and only stadium rock show (unless festivals count) was when the foo fighters were at AO with tenacious D. crowd was the flattest and lamest at any gig i've ever been to. i suppose when you get big enough to do stadiums you're bound to just get normies attending instead of people who actually like music

Got tickets the last time, then they pulled out because James was blasting piss. I only wanted Slipknot anyway really. Metallica are middling in my favorite stakes as in "Meh i like em but wouldn't bother to see em live."

The midnight are playing in Melbourne 31st of January , I'm going, you should go as a post cancer treat

My perception is clearly tainted by being from the UK.

Iron Maiden were the byword for long haired music.

Tool have done a Reverse Melachi this tour. Last time they toured they skipped Adelaide so everyone had to go to Malbun to see them. Now they are just doing shitty festivals on the East Coast meaning most serious Tool fans there have booked Adelaide to see a proper show.
