Player Watch Tyan Prindable

Its one game, but he appeared out of his depth yesterday.

He looked like a rabbit in the headlights in the first half but I thought his send half was much better. One thing he showed is he is not afraid of a contest, and his kick will be lethal when he adjusts to the pace of the game. As a first year player I was not dissapointed.

What's the likelihood of Prindable debuting against the Saints on Sunday? Is he any chance?
Prob not ready yet, though I did feel he showed some nice signs in the last Q v North.

Not supercoach relevant as a starter.

Fair enough. VFL it is.
The only possible cash cow is Steele and he’s a poor one at that. JDG post bye if his first two weeks are strong is the best you’ll find at Collingwood, IMO.

An 18yo taken at pick 32 playing his second game in the VFL. Genuine question, not baiting - why does he need to seriously lift?
To be strong enough? Needs to seriously lift weights to be strong enough for inside mid.

Because under no pressure he missed multiple short kicks and struggled to have any influence on the game
He's 18 and playing inside mid. Doesn't look like he's got a right foot, which is a bit of concern for that role. But otherwise he's looked OK. Clean hands and numbers were fine - 17 possessions, 9 tackles, 3 clearances. I wouldn't be expecting more than that at this stage, nor would I be worried about him missing a couple of targets.

It takes four years for inside mids to build endurance and strength.
Geelong build sides like this. Just be patient with him.
They're like talls. The contested roles need physical maturity. Mids only come into the team quicker because they can start on a flank.

Exactly, not sure why people think he's expected to be the finish product in his first year. Obviously he needs to increase his build, but that's the same for basically every 18-19 year old first year player, it's all part of the development process.

Some aren't willing to give the kid more than 2 games before declaring him a bust 🥴
