What I will say is it's pretty disappointing that Welsh and Draper somehow managed to have worse seasons this year than last year in the same league.
What are we doing to develop them?
Yep.
I get that Draper came on as a sub later in the practice match against Brisbane but he looked sensational, hunting the ball, using his pace. Fast forward a few months later for the game against Norf and he looked as lost on a footy field as I have seen since Curtly Hampton played his last game.
We need to head hunt a serious development coach and I still think we can't keep going without a midfield coach.
Get Draper back in a mighty Panthers guernsey when he's not playing AFLWhat I will say is it's pretty disappointing that Welsh and Draper somehow managed to have worse seasons this year than last year in the same league.

I don't follow the reserves sides of other premiership contenders closely, but is there another top 8 team that regularly has a reserves midfield featuring multiple players that will not play midfield at AFL level plus top ups?
And you know this how?And as much as people have a go at Marty Wright and Godden ( and by all means they should, that sort of stuff gets ticked off by VB
I would say it's common. Most of the AFL teams are simply aligned with another club and probably don't get a say on game day tactics. those clubs want to win their own premiership.I don't follow the reserves sides of other premiership contenders closely, but is there another top 8 team that regularly has a reserves midfield featuring multiple players that will not play midfield at AFL level plus top ups?
Midfield coach. And you know this how?
No sense made whatsoever.Midfield coach.
A functional club would work to the instructions of the afl coach and line coaches. No sense made whatsoever.
But how do you know where the approach has come from? VB? Nicks? Someone else?A functional club would work to the instructions of the afl coach and line coaches.
The sanfl club shouldn’t be doing their own thing.
One would hope we are a functional club.
Should only come from one of those two, with VB being the top of that pile. But how do you know where the approach has come from? VB? Nicks? Someone else?

I agree. I mentioned this earlier in the year that he just looks like a kid who really benefited from being bigger then most 16 year olds. Will not play an AFL game. bookmark this
Welcome to the AFL ....adapt or perishOverloading them with information about structure and team defence
Watched him pretty closely on Sunday, where he had a couple of chances to grab some ground balls (all be it under pressure) and either ran over the ball completely, or fumbled at a crucial time.I agree. I mentioned this earlier in the year that he just looks like a kid who really benefited from being bigger then most 16 year olds.
But I dont see the flashes of athleticism, game breaking talent, or at this point the desire to crack the next level. TBH if he wasn't playing as a drafted Crows player im not 100% sure he's a walk-on at every SANFL club.
Maybe hes still got a sophomore surge in him, and for his sake I hope he does. But as an AFL prospect, he hasn't stood out for a while now
Maybe, but he's a 18 year old key forward. Will not play an AFL game. bookmark this
I hope there is a deluge of water to go under the bridge still.Maybe, but he's a 18 year old key forward.
There's heaps of water to go under that bridge still.
Just bookmarked it. Showed up in my bookmarks next to your "bookmark this" post about Hawthorn not making the 8 this year. Will not play an AFL game. bookmark this
Kicking him or not playing him and setting these arbitrary fitness standards is one way, one that has cost us a few talents over the years... another might be if we think he can play, playing him in a less aerobic position at afl level to start with like in defence and see if the penny drops.
