Yes. The AFL issues a strike for pretending to take pretend drugs, a young player was issued one for dressing up as either Ben Cousins or an Essendon player with an IV from memory - even though the club associated (I think Hawthorn) acknowledged that it wasn't a drug thing, it was in bad taste. Similarly Jake Carlisle was issued one for a snapchat video. Is it even a strike?
It's important to remember that the strikes are there as a procedural shrug off to allow the AFL to appear to be socially interested in the drugs it's players are taking while also keeping it secret enough that they don't need to do anything about it.
The policy has been to name players on their second strike for the last four years. They also get a four week suspension.
Odds on the number of players who have been caught twice, not been named but served a four week suspension anyway? I'd say it's more than the zero reported.
The trick with the AFL illicit drug policy is to not embarrass the league or the club by having things play out in the media - they certainly won't be telling on you but they will make an example of you if your name is out there first.
