Justin Tafa in the third-last fight of a UFC PPV.
Against a guy who doesn't even have a wiki page.
In fact, three of the five fights on the main card feature guys without wiki pages.
And of the eight fighters on the prelims, only one of the fighters has a wiki page.
How much are people paying for this, again?

Lol it's an absolutely horrible card, I'll enjoy it cause I like watching Crute, Tafa and Jenkins but it doesn't even have the 7 most popular Aussies or Kiwis on the card in Tai, Rob, Volk,JDM, KKF Izzy or Hooker lol. Pedro retired.
All you'd have to add to this for Aussies not to complain would be a Hooker Gaethje or a Fiziev BSD type banger and I think people would be ok with it. If you're not Aussie there's probably one interesting fight on the card lol

Forgot about Erceg too lol. Probably the 8 biggest names in this region with maybe Tafa being the exception are all missing
Can forget about most of these fights but at least the Aussies should be able to see our guys get their hands raised.
du Plessis vs Strickland - Just feels like it's DDP's time. Both guys are puzzles and extremely hard for their opponents to work out. But DDP is younger, faster, more athletic, and more powerful. I think he has more ways to win so leaning towards him again.
Weili vs Suarez - Suarez was going to be the next female star of the sport before injuries got in the way. 3.5 years off then a couple of nice wins before now another 18 months off. Weili is probably at the peak of her powers right now and is hard to tip against. A Suarez wrestling clinic would not be a surprise though.

They know that Aussie fans will fill the stands regardless. So they always put on a pretty white card. Have a mate who’s going and paid $500 a ticket and they’re not even great seats.

I was using voice to text and didn’t reread it.
But my point was that they always put on rubbish cards because Australians will turn up regardless of what they dish up.
It was what was worrying me about Melbourne getting an NFL game. But with the Rams coming it looks like it might actually be decent.

This is UFC 301 which was probably said to be the shittest ppv last year because it was on the heels of 300
Still better than this card lol. It's like the Aussie and NZ fighters have become too big to fight at home now, if you had JDM v Edwards and like KKF vs Moreno on the this card it's a decent main card but literally every good Australia nz fighter ain't available. Even forgot about Ulberg above lol. 9 best fighters not available for this card

If Strickland loses this fight I think his shine has totally gone
Don't get me wrong his stick is amusing but is getting old. Especially for a bloke who talks up going to war and being willing to die in there and then going out with a super boring defensive style. He is the master of split decisions
On the other side of things man DDP is putting together an amazing resume. He is the bloke who is really willing to die out there and is exciting as hell (20 from 22 finishes)

I'm not paying anything. I've never ordered a UFC PPV since I first started watching in 2007. The only time UFC has gotten my money is when I went to see the Ronda vs Holm fight and the Whittaker vs Brunson fight. Then they didn't even come back to Melbourne for a few years and when they finally did the ticket prices had skyrocketed. Oh, and I also bought a few best of blu-rays and DVDs like 10 years ago before UFC started uploading classic fights to YouTube.
The PPV business model is completely outdated. They need to create their own streaming platform or get a deal with Netflix/Hulu/Peacock. I'd happily pay $20 a month. Even if I was willing to pay $80 (f**king lol) I don't even have Foxtel.
