Dont know if this has been posted but it is up on the AFL website, basically lets you pick a 22 and then you get to see who everyone else is picking.

It is actually pretty tough to pick a 22 from our current list, and for once seems like we have some pretty solid depth, I know it has been said but if we can have a relatively good run with injury we should definately push for the finals you'd think.

that was a lot harder then i thought it would be.

I had pavlich at CHF,but the majority want him at FF. I had the same mid 6 , except I had Schammer in for Ibbotson and Ibbo on the bench.

The AfL really should expand game day numbers..maybe to 25..:)..that way we get to see more players on the day...

I see a few leaving :(one way or another next year due to lack on game time..

Hopefully it can bring out the best in the whole team.

That's pretty darn cool! Dockerland (dare I mention it) had that a few years back though.

It's good to see such depth and so many players with AFL experience. If the young blokes perform we could see a few experienced players playing in the WAFL come round one. Soloman would be one bloke that might struggle to get a game come round one. It will be good to see the selectors having a few headaches at the start of the season.

Having a play around with that I could figure out where to put McPhee. The only training session I saw where he participated he was running out of defence. He only lasted 5-10 mins before did his ankle. Wherever they play him, it's going to take him a few games to gel.

I wouldn't be so sure about that.

Let's look at the old guys who missed the chop last year due to us being so young, and will be gone by next year.

Thornton
Murphy
Grover
Solomon

That makes 4 already gone by next year, nopw let's look at the players who have been on the list long enough to have had a look at them, and a decision WILL be made on them (ie get the chop)

Shepheard
O'Brien
Hinkley
Van Berlow
Headland
Sibosado
Dodd
Bradley

Now i'm not saying these guys will all get the chop, but I reckon AT LEAST 50% of them will.

So all in all, we will have lost another 8 guys, maybe just a tad less, say 6, due to the poor draft coming up, but either way, the young guys in our team would see this as a time to really push for selection, or get thrown on the scrap heap and say goodbye to an AFL career, while the old guys would see this as their last chance, considering the amount of young players pushing them out and as no other team would touch them at the moment if they were to be delisted.

So I think you'll find, this year will have a completely different 22 from round 1 to that of round 22. With the old guys taking the spots originally, while come round 22, they woukld have been surpassed and the new guys will be in the 22, or competing with other young guys for that spot.

Yes i saw that troll and Yes it was very hard to pick a team now that we have Mcphee in there.

Out of them i think they are the only ones that will not make. I hate it how every one underates Grover and Murphy. I know they are both less than avg. but i think Murph is in for a BIG season. Im backing a season that at the end everyone will praise him.

Unlike many I haven't written off Murphy either but the reality is that 4 or 5 players from the senior list will go so if Murphy does have a good year and earns a new contract then it will definately be curtains for Solly.

Grover being a veteran increases his chances of survival but the recruitment of McPhee is bad news for him.

If we finish bottom six again another clean out is essential.

Yes all true except i think the inclusion of Mcphee means Thornton is out for sure.

I had MJ over Soloman. Surprised he did not make the team - everyone probably had him in different positions.

That may be so, but his initial dilemma will be getting into the 22 to be able to do that. Its not like he hasnt had any chances. Will need an injury or two to other players for mine.

True but, he has had the rough end of the stick, I mean the man kicked 100% of the teams goals in round 15 and he got dropped. IMO he would have cemented a spot in the forward line over the last few years if it wasnt for Adam Campbell stealing his games.

A few careers may be saved/extended through GC17 entering the competition one would think. I'm done making early predictions of who will get the chop, this time last year I thought Duffield almost certainly had his head on the chopping block.

He did until an Excellent season. That is what will happen with Murph (i hope)

By all accounts this years draft is a good one and the draft age was pushed back 4 months last year which removed a lot of the talent so the players available at pick 60 this year will probably be better than those available at pick 45 in 2009.

I have my eyes set on Brandon Matera even though its a long way off.

Broughton Tarrant Hayden
Duffield Mcpharlin Mcphee
Hill Crowley Suban
Sandilands Hase Palmer
Ruffles Pavlich Mayne
Headland Murphy Ballantyne
bench
Mundy Ibbo Johnson Morabito

I had mundy in the mcphee spot at first but realised i had no where to put mcphee.
So since i dont want mundy in midfield mundy was first on bench.

Headland lucky to get a game an Murphy deserves first few games if he fails Headland takes over FF role and young player comes in who can play small forward and rotate through midfield role.

Has he?......47 games for 48 goals. Thats a poor record for a FF.

lol
IMO he would have cemented a spot in the forward line over the last few years if it wasnt for Adam Campbell stealing his games.

Campbell played 13 games for 13 goals. He had less than a third of Murphys chances, scored at about the same rate and he has been delisted.

Look....dont get me wrong here. Murphy still has the opportunity. All i am saying is that he isnt a starter, and if there are few injuries this year and we dont completely struggle in the forward line..he will find it hard to break into the team.
