I'm shocked and disappointed that no one has started this thread.

We are on top of the ladder, half a game clear after 16 rounds, AND I FOR ONE AM LOVING IT.

Yes it means very little in terms of the ultimate (premiership) but the fact remains that after 16 games, the Collingwood Football Club is the best AFL club on the planet.

Rejoice, enjoy, and load up for the Tigers next week, possibly in front of an even larger crowd.

Glad we are on Top but can we stay there with a few Danger games in Richmond and Essendon who would see us as there GF and we also play Hawks and Cats again.

I think many of us are holding our joy inside at the moment. We want ultimate glory, no premature celebrations just yet.

But good on the boys for being first after round 16 for the first time since 1990.

Yeah I know, but no Collingwood supporter who was at the game today could hold back a roar of approval when the Ladder was shown after the match today.

Yes it's just a step on the road to our ultimate target, but it is an achivement in itself.

We may not hold on to top spot, but what we did today was basically guarantee ourselves a top 3 spot, which will be so important come September.

At no stage in the last 20 years have the pies been top in the last 20 years toward the latter stage of the season.

We were great today, but we showed the signs early in rnd 3 when we outplayed the saints but couldn't convert.

Pies are looking great, good work from MM.

Go on with it now and get some big wins against tigers and blues in the next couple and set up a cracker against the catters!!

For various reasons my regular group didn't go today, so at about 11am I was actually weighing up whether to go in by myself or stay at home. Thank God I made the right choice. It's funny, I sort of expected that I would be a bit more subdued as a result of flying solo but I reckon I made even more noise today than I usually do.

I never really allowed myself to relax until time on in the last quarter, and from that moment on I had my eyes on the scoreboard waiting for the live ladder to pop up. That cheer was a great moment.

That would be correct. After our defeat by the Lions we still remained one game clear on top of the ladder. Then we faced Geelong in the so-called 'blockbuster' and slipped down to third.

Still, I'm glad to see our boys getting up there this season. It's been a long time coming and I think the pressure has been slightly lifted. I do see Geelong as still being a high-wrecking threat to our success, but after all, they were downed by Adelaide.

Even Rhyce Shaw had 2 shots at goal (didn't kick either one of course).
