But some people here reckon the VAFA are near perfect at all they do, Bedders.

Seeing around 70% of all affiliation fees go to the umpiring department you'd expect waaaaaaay better.

Lets hope you get umpires that don't tolerate abuse from the sidelines... perhaps they should pay a free kick in the goal square to the opposition if they deem comments as poor...

Have had some talk about a long term upgrade to Headquarters which will see the VAFA and the umpires remain at Headquarters..and...the return of the match of the day to the venue after the upgrades have been completed.

Who is paying Paz?

The cost will be substantial as the ground surface is extremely poor at present, quite apart from the significant costs involved in a major re-build.

I'm not surprised...there's been problems with Schedula this week. Umpires aren't receiving e-mails to inform them of appointments.

Look at the fees, clubs deserve better than this

They are up on the Umpire's Association website..not the competition website. Despite the goal umpire numbers, 5 of them, including me, are doing double headers across the weekend.

On a purely practical level, just a glowing green jacket as opposed to the blue one will work wonders on cold, wet, winter afternoons!

I'm retiring due to work commitments for the 2nd time (previous retirement was from the end of 2006). Might be permanent.
