Echos my sentiments. Was crap from there and was nowhere near enjoyable. As many above have said, game was tense, enthralling and awesome toplay (especiallywith headphones) right up to the wendigo twist. It was such a good physcho thriller and a great 80's teen horror throwback up until then, didnt mind the josh twist, but for it to essentiallygo nowhere as the wendigo story took over sucked the fun out of it for me. Saved sam, chris, ashe, mike,
Grabbed this for $39 at Big W today. How long does it take to finish?
I'd like to do it in one or two sittings if it's 5-8 hours.
Good game, always prefer horror stories to have 'human' reasons for it though if that makes sense.
Given that Josh was playing the PSYCHO prank on all of them how come Ashley heard things when they were using the spirit board? Or was that also to do with the Wendigos?
It's been a while since I played the game, but I don't remember Ashly hearing things. Regardless, I would say that the whole spirit board thing was set up by josh to freak Ashley and Chris out.
I haven't got too much of a problem with 'human' or 'supernatural' reasons to horror. I don't even mind the Wendigos element to the game or that Josh was the psycho. I guess the thing that put me off with the story is that they both appeared in the same game and made it feel a bit disjointed. Also the realisation that most of the characters weren't in any real danger when Josh revealed himself was bit deflating. They should have had it either just the Wendigos or for it to be just Josh as the psycho (and actually trying to terrify and murder his friends) IMO. Not both. As it is, it's like having Freddy Kruger appearing out of nowhere halfway through the Saw movie.
I hope they make another game like this but in a different setting and characters. The big mistake a lot of good horror movies make is that they make sequels. What is often scary in horror is the suspense and the unknown. Once the "enemy" is revealed and the "rules" in which to engage him/her/it is known then it loses the suspense. The sequel would need new characters and a new threat, with perhaps subtle easter eggs from the first game at best.
: looks at all the other pages including this one :Shouldn't visit the thread if you haven't finished the game. Or avoiding reading other posts.
Just finished this.
matt, Emily, Mike and Chris survived for me
Sam died at the end even though I didn't move.
Really enjoyed it overall. Didn't mind the whole wendigo thing or the twist. Thought it actually worked well.

Hahah I knew I shouldn't have made that choice but I couldn't help myself. You killed Ash?!
Ive already done it properly a second time so made sure it all worked out!yeah that bit is super pretty tricky bok - seems to be mega sensitive. I cheated on my second playthrough by putting the controller on the floor and turning the rumble off.
