Untouchables.

With McLeod, Edward and Goodwin heading off into the sunset in the not so distant future.

It got me thinking who is Adelaide's untouchables, that is players that we would never ever consider trading. Simply put, what we would want for them we would arguably never get! There is probably a very short list the AFC would never consider to be offered for trade.

I think I can safely say that Mcleod and the Roo were probably on this list for most of their career.

The short-list IMO is : Bock, Porps and Walker.

I'm not sure if anyone is at this stage "untouchable".

Dangerfield I love and think will be great, but if an above value trade is offered I'd probably take it.

Tippett is perhaps the only one I'd like to think of as untouchable as he's practically irrpelacable (we know, we've been trying to find him for 10 years). However, in a year or two we may just see how untouchable he is

Whilst I agree to some degree, I believe it's too early to tell with Vince yet. He's still so green, shows all the signs of becoming elite, but as with so many players, might need a another good few seasons before he really shows his full value and proves to be in the elite category.

Tippett and Bock are arguably our most important players and we'd have to be offered something remarkable to consider trading them.

Porps is a cult figure, with Tex assuming a similar position. Club marketing would suggest they stay.

NO-ONE else commands the same respect from within our team.

Really surprised that no one has put Thompson on this list. Rarely beaten, gets the ball and his disposal has improved immeasurably from his early days. Would have to be a leading candidate for this year's B&F and also a contender for the captaincy, which Goodwin should relinquish at the end of the year.

There is no such a thing as untouchable player. However, there is a group of players that I would be VERY VERY reluctant to trade or break up. They are all young with a great deal of talent and they complement each other.

For players who are 24 and under I would be very reluctant to break up Tippett, Dangerfield, Mackay, Porplyzia, Walker and Vince. I think those 6 are the core of our team going forward. Rutten and Bock are utterly important to us as well.

Everyone has a price but as I said, I would be reluctant to break up this group.

I don't think any sensible person would disagree with that. there is always room for interpretation where the line is, but some guys are going to be have much higher thresholds before you'd part with them.
