On my wish list.

In all seriousness though there’s a lack of striker options across the market at the moment.

Nketiah has plenty of PL experience. A good goal scorer in the right system. Holds the most goals for English u21 level. Still young. Homegrown. English tax etc etc.

This would be the narrative if Arsenal was looking to acquire someone of that profile. Good selling clubs like Liverpool or Brighton for example would convert this into £40m-£50m.

Over to you Edu. He’s going to have his hands full with a number of outgoings to sort out (when he’s not on the BBQ).

That Orny tweet was outta nowhere. Wow. A bit to unpack here.

Arteta has clearly been a fan for a while. Tried to sign Raya as a Martinez replacement I recall. That was during Covid though so funds weren’t as freely available as they are now, especially with Arsenal’s packed squad and wage bill at the time.

Linked again the year after, but then with Brentford’s promotion his price tag was much higher and they weren’t going to sell. Ramsdale arrived instead.

I have long thought that Ramsdale needs genuine competition. Sometimes he may be too comfortable in his position knowing full well he is the clear and obvious number 1 at the club.

Turner a good shot stopper however not at the level required by Arteta in possession and distribution. And aside from Cup games, and no Europa, it’s difficult to see him getting minutes in the CL and/or premier league.

Ramsdale is prone to the random costly error. Even in the pre season matches so far. Perhaps Arteta is concerned about this and is looking to address that now. I didn’t think another GK was on the radar, however he we are.

Some sales really need to happen though. Arsenal cannot continue to invest as heavily as we are without some good exit fees to help offset these transactions.

Nottingham Forest asking about Matt Turner. Wonder if their interest triggered our interest in Raya or vice-versa. Runnarson and Okonkwo both soon to be out.

Villareal sniffing around Cedric. Lokonga and Burnley. Some talk about offers (some more serious than others) for Holding, Tavares, Patino and Trusty. Balogun will be our big money earner, but suspect it'll go to the wire. Curious to know what the plan is for Elneny. And then there's Pepe...

I feel like whatever business remains will be towards the back end of August. Squad at the moment is at 35 players.

Pepe supposedly hasn’t even returned to London, he is training elsewhere. A strange one. If he was injured you’d think he would be recuperating under the watch of Arsenal’s medical team.

I think the same thing will happen with him and Cedric that has happened many times previously - contract termination by mutual consent. ie, pay them out.

All quiet at the moment on the Tierney front. Given Arteta has started Timber, Kiwior and Tomiyasu at LB during pre season, I take that to mean Zinchenko won’t be recovered in time for the start of the new season.

I also went with little planning. Did a tour during the week, asked the guide about tickets. He said see me after the tour is over. We went to an office and bought seats. A fair way in the corner. Beat Chelsea.

Tickets are available on the club website but they sell quickly. Then you are looking at buying online through onsellers.

Feel like this could be my best bet. Cheers.

I bought a few off Twitter but that was 2019 just before covid so not sure what it’s like now.

If the above doesn't work I feel this would be the only other option.

Went to a match in 2019. Got tickets through Arsenal Australia, but you have to be a member(Was ~$20 for membership). You could also sign up as an Arsenal Red member and try your luck there but tickets these days are a lot harder to come by.

There's also re-sale sites, but I've never tried my luck with them so can't comment.

Meanwhile, 2-2 at HT in our pre-season friendly against Barca. Saka and Havertz the scorers.

Just spent $50 signing up only for the games with tickets available to purchase being in October when I should be home :(. My fault for leaving it last minute and not reading the information on the site properly.

Haven’t done it myself and can already see some good tips from the other posts here.

From what I read and hear it seems much more difficult now to secure a ticket given Arsenal’s resurgence. Tickets have been described as gold dust; hard to come by.

However I’ve heard people have had success by making it well known online what you’re seeking, on the big Arsenal fan accounts on twitter and the various ticket exchange accounts on twitter and so on.

Make it known. The day/dates you’re there. Which match/matches you’re seeking. How many tickets. “Once in a lifetime Australian fan here wanting to see a live match before I leave” etc etc.

Be active and vocal in those areas and hopefully that gets you the outcome. Best of luck.

This is what I worry about. Pre our resurgence I imagine it would have been pretty easy to secure tickets. I follow a few local Gooners on twitter who I might be able to engage with and they could potentially help.

Thanks for the advice. Will let you know how I go, plan is to hopefully get to one of the Fulham, United or Spurs games.

Members will sell tickets if they cannot get to a game.
If you persevere you should come up with something

It’s a strange move in that eventually one of them will be unhappy with limited game time surely but I see the logic in both pushing each other to be better. We definitely still need a better backup but one of the two will be a very expensive backup.

It really reinforces the club's desire to bridge the gap between the starting 11 and the 2nd 11. The gap between Ramsdale and Turner was too big for a club with tje ambition to win trophies. I like Turner, but he probably suits other teams better.

Just based off previous examples, it is usually a situation that comes to a head after a season or so.

Two top class goalkeepers vying for one spot doesn’t usually last that long. Leno and Ramsdale in recent memory. Martinez and Leno before that. Cech and Leno. And even way back as Szczesny and Ospina.

Competition is one thing. Keeping you on your toes, not getting complacent etc etc. Difference between say two strikers sharing the one spot in terms of minutes and so on versus goalkeepers (you don’t tend to sub on your other keeper at the 70 minute mark). It isn’t sustainable for the long term usually, one of them normally wants to leave after a period of time.

With Arteta’s past pursuit of Raya and the relationship he already has with Inaki Cana, it will be very interesting to see how much Ramsdale is affected by this.

I like what this represents though. Arteta is ****ing ruthless and so many times I think “do we really need to upgrade in that position?” and then the bloke he signs shows exactly what we were missing all along. He’s relentless this bloke. He wants to win and wants to win now.

Raya was apparently Arteta's preferred choice of GK during the window we bought Ramsdale.

Yes I mentioned that earlier, Brentford’s promotion to the PL though made it almost impossible to sign him then. Supposedly there was a £10m clause or something prior to that. However when they came up Arsenal had to pivot. Ramsdale was identified instead.
