From my privileged position all the way over here in Australia, I don’t have an issue with it. Late kick off, winter weather, young kids and families etc to consider, it’s part and parcel really.

Thought the fans overall were outstanding in the second half, when the game was there to be won and Arsenal tore them apart, the noise was raucous. The game was done and dusted at 4-0 with ten minutes left. Some of the closing singing in particular was brilliant. From the “he’s better than you” chant to the “you’re just a shit David Raya” (to which my sons have had a field day when I explained it to them haha), I thought the fans were brilliant.

The ones who can't stick around for a win like that are part of the reason the emirates sounds like a library at times and isn't as intimidating as a place like Anfield. So many supporters would love a chance to be there just for one game but miss out while we have privileged old pricks leaving early so they can get to bed on time
The Emirates sounds like a library because it's a shallow concrete bowl, not a proper/traditional football ground like Anfield.

The stands are miles away from the pitch and the seating bowl itself is shallow and doesn't allow noise to bounce around like the steep stands at Anfield or Spurs do.

The Emirates was designed to fit as many people in as possible, and it came at the cost of the atmosphere.

As for the public transport, it's a weeknight in London and the match wouldn't have finished until close to 11pm, then you've got a 10 minute walk to the closest tube station, and you'd be lucky to queue for less than 40 minutes to get on the tube.

People have jobs to go to the next day, being a weeknight. Leaving 10 minutes early could be the difference between waiting 20 minutes to get on the tube and waiting an hour. And that could be the difference between making your connecting train home or missing it.

It happens with afternoon matches too. And the type of people who leave early are not the type of people who have to work nye lol

The poor things. If they don't have the energy to support the team they can get out of the way and let some younger fans do it. Given how difficult it is to get tickets there would be no shortage of fans who want to be there until the final whistle
And that could be the difference between making your connecting train home or missing it.
And the stands emptying could have been why players were switching off and conceded that stoppage time goal which could be the difference in the title race. We're now 1 goal behind Man City in goal difference

What an incredibly ignorant post.

Genuine question - have you ever been to London and therefore know how much people reply on public transport to get around the city?

It's nothing like it is here in Australia.

Dude you're the one blaming poor support on public transport and stadium architecture lmao

The fans who stayed until the end can't have been too worried about it. It happens with earlier kickoffs too so can't use the no late trains excuse

You didn't answer his question though;

Just a yes or no will suffice.

Odd hill to die on too. Who cares? It doesn't impact you, why waste so much energy on it?

Arsenal are top of the league, and the champions league despite being riddled with injuries over the last few months. There are players on the horizon returning, a cup semi final in January, and a genuine chance to have a major tilt at some trophies in the coming months of 2026. That’s good enough for me.

Any chance of Sunderland being good and in form again tomorrow like when we had to play them?

They have a host of players unavailable and at AFCON. I can’t envisage anything other than a City win. However as long as Xhaka is there pulling the strings like he has all season, who knows.

I haven't. What difference does that make?
The same thing happens with afternoon matches. I don't think it's comical to say we have some entitled and privileged match day fans. The stands start emptying 5 minutes before half time too. Never see that at clubs with better support.

Why you all so defensive about? It doesn't impact you, why waste so much energy on it? One of you was carrying on like it's sacrilegious to criticise match day fans as if they are some sort of heroes for having the courage to battle public transport lol

People leaving their seats before half time happens at just about every sporting arena in the world actually.

So what. Are they heroes for beating the queues for a beer too? 🙄
Mate I'm not going to keep clogging up the thread with this idiotic argument you're making.

You've clearly made up your mind so let's leave it there.

boss Mikel Arteta has said Declan Rice's knee injury is a short-term issue, although he missed Tuesday's top-of-the-table win against Aston Villa.
Arteta said of Rice's availability in the coming days: "Depends, so that swelling has to come right down for him to have the chance to function. He wasn't able to do that today yet, he's improving, but let's see what happens in the next couple of days."

So. Who hasn't been injured?
