Holy shit. A lot to unpack there.

Ramsdale immense.

Disappointing to drop 2 points after being 2-0 up with a good chance to make it 3. The substitutions were interesting, Kiwior for Odegaard is reminiscent of Holding coming on late. In the context of the match though, and those huge saves by Ramsdale in injury time, am feeling much better about this result.

Could be a fantastic point gained.

Wow. I watched from 40th minute.

We were incredibly lucky to get away with a draw. Our goals were great and it's a shame we could not capitalise even further. The goal before the break definitely spurred them on and gave them the momentum. Xhaka blowing up at TAA was unneccesary and fired up the crowd and kinda brough Liverpool back into the game. I thought Martinelli tried to play himself out of trouble a bit too often, particularly towards the end of the game, but in the same sense it's good he was trying to take the game by the scruff of the neck.

Salah missing the penalty was not something I would have thought would happen and that just propelled them to try and score again. Salah of just a year ago would have scored four or five against us. As for the penalty itself, it was clumsy, and a very soft call. Not to say it wasn't a pen, but he's hardly gone in intentionally to trip him.

Ramsdale was outstanding and literally kept us in the game. He made at least 5 match winning saves I reckon.

Konate was a monster for them and was their best IMO.

Momentum swings back to City's favour now and we've got it all to do. Going to be very tough.

Presuming City win their game in hand, which they most like will, the margin will be back to 3 points.

That looming match away to City is becoming increasingly crucial.

Christ, that final break with Martinelli passing to Saka and Trossard coming down the left... ugh!!

What a game. Feel both lucky and unlucky. I'm comforted by the fact that we gained a point more than ManC at Anfield.

Yes.. I thought we had a late winner then!! But.. unfortunately not.

Yep. Football hey.

we are lucky not to lose that. had salah scored that penalty then we prob lose that.
ramsdale was outstanding.
that chance we had at the end and we managed to stuff it up
Xhaka made the same mistake Artera did firing up the crowd. We were all over them at that point.

That pass at the end hits Saka, and it goes down as an all time moment for the club ffs such a fine line.

City will drop points. Probably v Arsenal.
Big call but obviously the best game for them to drop points.

If we can start as well as we did last night I don’t think City have the crowd advantage that Liverpool obviously do.

Still in Europe, still in Cup.

If you'd have offered me a point at Anfield before the season I'd have bitten your hand off. Now it feels like the title is gone because City have entered beast mode and will not drop any points in the last 9 games.

If thats the case then I believe it would be 14 games in a row that they would have won in order to win the title.

Nah that virtually had zero effect on the crowd. It was our defence turning off and conceding that got Liverpool fans/players in the game.

I think their fans came alive more so after they scored, rather than the Xhaka incident. Which I feel has been overblown in terms of its impact on the match itself.

Arsenal were outstanding for 40ish minutes. Liverpool then for 50 odd minutes plus injury time. When the dust settles, I genuinely believe this was a well earned point gained.

Prior to playing City later this month, Arsenal play 2 additional league matches. They are going to have a few games in hand and the onus is on Arsenal to bank extra wins and extend that lead out as much as possible.

Their QF against Bayern kicks off this week in the CL, sandwiched in the middle is Leicester in the league who I think they will put away comfortably. Next weekend it’s an FA Cup semi.

From an Arsenal perspective, the hope is they continue their runs deep into those competitions and are playing 3 times a week. Obviously their squad depth is built for this purpose - to compete on multiple fronts. However you never know, tiredness, the odd niggle here and there, could put pressure on and make a difference.

’m trying not to be down on the team, yeah being 2-0 up and not winning sucks but…

We’re the youngest team in the league, just gone on a 7 match winning streak and have 73 points from 30 games.

I’ll take dropping a 2-0 at Anfield and drawing being top of the league in April over getting routinely smacked at Anfield by 4 or 5 and being 8th in April like we were as little as 24 months ago.

Arteta made some mistakes but he also got so much right this season. our young team lost our way in a hostile environment after a great start but it happens.

Honestly so proud of this young team, they might hit 90+ points and if that’s enough it’ll be gutting but I’ll just have to say well done City.

Keep believing people were still in this thing, limited margin for error now and must get a result at the Etihad but we have a shot, no time to feel sorry for ourselves.

This is how I feel. We've been so damn good this season. But we're being chased by the terminator. I now understand how Liverpool fans felt that past 4 years.

And they’ve just flicked aside Bayern this morning 3 nil. Ruthless.

Yet somehow we’re 6 points (currently) ahead in the league. Its been an extraordinary effort and season from Arsenal to get ourselves into this position. Amazing stuff.

Arsenal would’ve had an EL tie vs Juventus this morning if we’d won that penalty shootout a few weeks ago. Given the toll that night took, injuries to Tomiyasu and Saliba, the squad isn’t quite ready as yet to go deep on both fronts.

The benefit now being 6 or 7 days between league matches to recover and prepare. The Chelsea fixture being moved a few days after City allows more time as well however sucks for the many supporters who would’ve booked flights and hotels etc for that match.
