I think we ruined White overplaying him while Timber was out with the ACL and Tomiyasu was being Tomiyasu. Hasn't been the same player since. The same thing is going to happen to Timber unless we replace White with a reliable backup.
Also for such a good player Timber's crossing is woeful

I haven't watched anything from today's game so can't speak to it, but since coming back I've thought White has been great?

He was particularly good against Brentford.

Yeah he has, I meant more like his reliability. Just can't seem to play more than a couple of matches anymore before breaking down

Just watching the mini match and Gyokeres could've had a hat trick if his team mates actually looked for him...

Martinelli and Odegaard both burned him and went for the shot from an impossible angle instead.

Agree he should've got something on that cross from Saka

As far as that performance goes... take the 3 points and run. Burn the tapes. Absolutely got away with one there.

A few seasons ago we had to play him 3 times a week as otherwise we’d be in Cedric territory without Tomiyasu to rely upon. Unfortunately as much as his body as been impacted by that, genuine question needs to be asked why did he start this one after so many consecutive games and MLS was available in the squad.

It is what it is now. Marli Salmon will be in line to start that EFL match upcoming.

Also that Martinelli shot you mentioned, yep I do believe he should have got that across to Gyokeres for the tap in. Martinelli did really well to round his defender and get to that spot, but I felt the pass was more on than the shot was.

Fun fact - in the Invincibles season Arsenal twice stumbled agains the bottom team (Portsmouth). 2 draws. Thank **** Arsenal got the 3 points here against Wolves, got away with it this time however they’ll all know it wasn’t good enough.

City have absolutely fluked a few this season. Fulham very stiff, Leeds similar, Brentford. Had Arse to win 2-0 v wolves, knew they would come and park the bus (depot) as city themselves did when they came to us. Fair play to wolves, nearly pulled it off. A lot of gooners calling a 4/5 niller, never going to happen.

What a rollercoaster of emtions stoppage time was. Had my three year old with me and when they scored I threw my phone on to the couch.

When we scored I ran around saying yes for about seconds and she was asking what was wrong haha.

We looked very poor. Not being able to work out a low block is poor. We are going to face it many times this season, so we really need to work something out. Gyokeres didn't look great, he should have done better with that Martinelli shot across goal. I thought Hincapie had a very good game, despite him being beaten on their goal.

I am a big fan of White but he can barely string a few games together before he's injured again. I think it's probably worth cashing him on while he still holds value.

Rollercoaster? I was silly enough to book myself a game of golf at the same time as the 2nd half. Got to the first tee with us just going 1-0 ahead. Feeling immense relief I started my round with two pars. Feeling good. Get to the third hole, check the score as we had a wait on the tee. Read we conceded in the 90th minute. Proceeded to hit two balls into the water for a quadruple bogie. 4th tee, another wait, and I read we won with two own goals. Ended up finishing 5th overall in the Sunday Comp...

Would've won it without the quadruple bogie.

These are the games that make champions, the ability to turn shitty performances into points. We got stung by Villa, but this time managed to turn it around.

The game itself, it should have been a 4/5 goal win. Arsenal burned a lot of opportunities, especially if you look back at the number of times there was an Arsenal player unmarked in their box looking for a pullback shot.

RE Gyokeres, he hasn't been the greatest but he still need time to adapt to the Premier league and to his teammates. The positives are that he is making the right movements, getting to the right spaces. An inch or two either way and he gets two goals vs Wolves.

Arteta even said as much after the game: "It's a collaboration between the two. He was in a lot of really good positions and the ball didn't get into the area quick enough, sharp enough or just with the precision that is required for a No.9 to score the goal. But his work rate and intentions were there and we need to keep insisting."

Everton away under the lights will be tough. Having said that, a full week off (first time since August) and the Hill Dickinson stadium instead of Goodison Park which we struggled at often might make a difference.

The schedule (for many clubs, not just Arsenal) is insane. The EFL cup fixtures are obviously contingent upon the result against Palace, however this schedule upcoming is unrelenting.

A full week to prepare for Everton is a welcome boost. However it won’t always be that way. Thankfully though with our very impressive CL campaign so far, those 2 remaining fixtures also provide the opportunity to rotate and prioritise the league games around them.

Defensively we need to be very careful with Timber here. The White injury was so preventable however the load now on Timber is going to have to be managed. It doesn’t seem that Josh Nicholls is next man up, Salmon perhaps is ahead of him in the pecking order and should hopefully see some minutes in the EFL Cup and FA Cup perhaps.

From my understanding it’s a broadcast decision, will remain 2 legs until the current deal is up for renewal in 2028. 2 legged semi makes it more appealing for those bidding for the rights which means more $$$, the usual cycle.
