Wilshere to play his wide left/roaming role again. Not exactly plan A but has been effective so far in tandem with Ozil. Will need to make do with this formation as cazorla is still a few weeks away.

But this starting XI should get the job done. Worried about the workload already on guys like giroud, but as we know there are few alternatives until we get some players back up and running.

Gnabry was okay - impressed with his defensive work especially.

Overall, a pretty lacklustre performance. But a very good result.

We were never really in trouble that game nice to get the 3 points were looking pretty good so far this might be a memorable season

Ozil leading the league in assist and his yet to play a good game by his standards.

Flamini again organising the team. For home games against lower league teams he should start and in away games were we concede less possession. Though against teams in the top half of ladder Arteta should be the one to partner Ramsey as he will be better in possession and wont give the ball away when pressured.

Giroud's hold play so far this season has been brilliant, I did expect him to improve in this aspect as like we saw with Koscienly they struggled with the physicality of the premier league in their first season. Which the premier league is much more physical then Ligue 1 and takes time to adjust too.

Wilshere was poor today and Ramsey struggled in the second half (desperately needs a rest).

Lastly I hope we give Sagna a two or three year contract, with his ability to now play CB I can see him playing until his at least 35.

Just another couple of casual assists for Ozil this morning. All class.

Gnabry defended, kept the ball and used his feet better than Walcott ever has or ever will, but he wasn't really threatening down that flank at all. I think Gnabry can only play if we're running the Ox down the other flank as the speed outlet or we change system completely, otherwise we're just too one dimensional in attack.

Gibbs had a better second half after a dire first half, and Jack was never really in the game.

No goal for the big handsome Frenchman, but not for lack of a good shot, was immense in the air and one out up front yet again.

I like what Flamini does - he doesn't just screen, when he finds one of the back 4 out of position he drops into the slot to cover for them. Unfortunately when he did that after Gibbs gave away cheap possession, nobody covered for him in the centre, Sagna ball watched and they scored. Notice he was also the one who dug Szczesny out of that enormous hole he put is in just before half time with the underhit pass up the middle, risked injury and a card to win that ball, dig it out and prevent what would have been a 3 on 1 for Stoke. Good signing that one.
