Still trying to get over the fact that Giroud score a goal that required more than one touch. I think that brings his tally to four goals scored that required more than one touch since he arrived at Arsenal.

Quietly confident El Nenny will be a good signing despite only seeing him a few times. His passing, tackling, interception and kilometres covered stats are what you would expect from a good DM/CM, whilst having read some articles on him, it appears to he has the right attitude to succeed here.

Also Ozil is far and away our most important player in the attacking third and could easily make the argument for the entire team. Simply put he is responsible for most of our chances, whether directly involved (scoring/assisting) or linking up with the midfielders and getting the ball to wingman or striker. The moment he goes out of the team, all of a sudden the likes of Giroud, Campbell and Walcott aren't involved and can't impact the game.

Huh? Campbell and Giroud were our best today. Campbell assisted Ramsey, then played the ball off the Liverpool player for Giroud's second. Ozil had no direct involvement in any of our goals while Campbell generally ran amuck.

Not sure what game you were watching...

Yes a rare game where he wasn't involved, although the way the game was played (long balls) wasn't suited for Ozil and is the reason we didn't come away with the three points, as it kept inviting pressure.

This however paints a much clearer picture.

A profile of Elneny from David Hynter is on the Guardian website.

Thanks Lats, decent read. Knew nothing about him a month ago but now very keen to see him out there.

It's nicely done by the club that we've got a signing completed in the area we need at a relatively early stage of the window.

.
Damming with faint praise TT ? I don't care how they go in, how many touches it does or doesn't take him, he's an absolute gun and perfect for how Arsenal play. Chronically under appreciated.

What about THAT cup final where we completely dominated those pricks only for that dwarf Owen to pick our pockets.

Yeah that game was just ****ed didn't help the fact Henchoz should have been red carded and us awarded a penalty for a blatant handball preventing Henry's goal.

Not at all, its just a somewhat bizarre stat given how many goals he has scored for us since he arrived.

Just read that Elneny could have to leave for national service at any time during his contract unless they can get a special pardon from the government like Salah did.
Surely if Salah gets an exemption then he will be able to as well. Read somewhere that he is registered as a student in Egypt so it doesn't apply to him anyway.

I get what you're saying. Though I think we've seen enough proof that Campbell (and Alexis) can perform okay/well without Ozil dominating proceedings or being his usual assisting self.

Walcott and Giroud though, I'm with you there. They generally need Ozil to fire. Walcott more than Giroud, as Giroud v. Olympiacos, Liverpool for example has dominated without Ozil.

I wouldn't be too concerned with it. We had the same fear mongering with Park whatshisface and South Korea.

These countries almost always have loopholes to pardon their star sports people from national service.

How often do we win at these shitholes? Off the top of my head, I count 10/48 pts in the prior 2 seasons.

Only 1pt from three games this season ... not winning the league at this rate.

Considering we are top of the league despite that....

Bit of an odd conclusion to reach.

It's time we beat those campaigners at their campaignery stadium.

1-0 to The Arsenal. If there's a doubt on Sanchez, I'd say keep him out of this one. Their rabid fans might jump the fence to kick the shit out of him.

Not really when we still have 5 of those venues to visit in the run in.

But your betting on Arsenal being the only team to struggle in certain fixtures. Every team will lose points and win points when they are not expected.

We weren't supposed to be United or City based on history.

Let's just deal with one game at a time before predicting our collapse.

Ran into a mate the other day who hasn't been paying much attention to the Prem this year.

Said he thought my Gunners were mid table after listening to the fans whinge all summer.

No team that has gone on to win the Premier League has lost at the Britannia Stadium in the same season.

Well **** it. Lose against Stoke and we might as well tell the boys to take the last 16 games off as the season is cooked.

I'll never understand why people keep looking for reasons to be miserable.

"on Alexis...

Alexis I would say has a 60:40 chance to be available and be back in the squad. He has two decisive days - Friday and Saturday. He is fit, he has worked very hard and the decision we have to take is whether to take a gamble or not on his injury."

I'd say leave him our altogether. Doesn't sound worth the risk, given that his injury happened when he was already under an injury cloud going into a game.

We've coped surprisingly well without him, and Campbell is in some form.
