Still trying to get over the fact that Giroud score a goal that required more than one touch. I think that brings his tally to four goals scored that required more than one touch since he arrived at Arsenal.

Quietly confident El Nenny will be a good signing despite only seeing him a few times. His passing, tackling, interception and kilometres covered stats are what you would expect from a good DM/CM, whilst having read some articles on him, it appears to he has the right attitude to succeed here.

Also Ozil is far and away our most important player in the attacking third and could easily make the argument for the entire team. Simply put he is responsible for most of our chances, whether directly involved (scoring/assisting) or linking up with the midfielders and getting the ball to wingman or striker. The moment he goes out of the team, all of a sudden the likes of Giroud, Campbell and Walcott aren't involved and can't impact the game.

Huh? Campbell and Giroud were our best today. Campbell assisted Ramsey, then played the ball off the Liverpool player for Giroud's second. Ozil had no direct involvement in any of our goals while Campbell generally ran amuck.

Yes a rare game where he wasn't involved, although the way the game was played (long balls) wasn't suited for Ozil and is the reason we didn't come away with the three points, as it kept inviting pressure.



This however paints a much clearer picture.

Surely if Salah gets an exemption then he will be able to as well. Read somewhere that he is registered as a student in Egypt so it doesn't apply to him anyway.

I get what you're saying. Though I think we've seen enough proof that Campbell (and Alexis) can perform okay/well without Ozil dominating proceedings or being his usual assisting self.

Walcott and Giroud though, I'm with you there. They generally need Ozil to fire. Walcott more than Giroud, as Giroud v. Olympiacos, Liverpool for example has dominated without Ozil.

I wouldn't be too concerned with it. We had the same fear mongering with Park whatshisface and South Korea.

These countries almost always have loopholes to pardon their star sports people from national service.

I'd say leave him our altogether. Doesn't sound worth the risk, given that his injury happened when he was already under an injury cloud going into a game.

We've coped surprisingly well without him, and Campbell is in some form.
